Erm, I'd hate to break it to you but baseball was invented in Britain, 'American' football was invented in Canada.

Anyway, I couldn't care less if Americans never liked football, I just think you guys should realize that you're the odd ones out, now the rest of the world.

What does your second point have to do with your first?

I may have meant not, instead of now. But either way, I'm dropping the topic since it has very little to do with the topic.

Anyone see that Brazil vs Croatia game? Pretty gay, non-stop fouls and Brazil, by the far the best team in the world, won out of luck. Oh well.

Off-topic abit... you know that Croatia translated into English means Tieland.

Yeah, that game was pretty weak. Something's wrong with Ronaldo, let's see if they can find to their old consitution next time.

Anyone see that USA vs Italy game? Seriously, that was the funniest game I've ever seen in my lifetime, probably the funniest game ever in history. Not only need America, a complete and utter rank outsider, draw with Italy, easily one of the best, probably the best after Brazil, but they did it with 9 men against 10! I was cheering America all the way, there were so many fouls, off siders, and free kicks and the ref just seemed to get fed up and stopped bothering. Hats off to the USA, that was amazing play. The thing is, if that player hadn't been offside when he scored that goal, America would have won! Incrediable.

Dr. Lecter, I do believe you've just increased my interest, as well as awareness, in the World Cup. Many sincere thanks. smile.gif

Edit: I just saw the replay, thanks for the Head's up. Enjoyed it, so when do the Americans stand to play again?

Double Edit: Next Thursday. And we Want Italia to prosper as well.

Dear Doctor, that wasn't a game, that was a fucking war. And it was brilliant. Red cards, blood, shattered bones, offsides, angry referees and coaches and stuff everywhere! Damn, if only every game were this intense...

I think America to beat Ghana would be quite a challenge, but I'll be cheering them anyway. If Italy beat Czech, and the Americans beat Ghana, then America and Italy will qualify. But, there's a chance America will face Brazil, which no ammount of support will help them, Brazil will probably total them. But then Brazil ain't been at their best this tournment, so who knows.

It depends a lot on whether Ronald's going to find back to his usual condition. But yeah, they're in for a beating.

With any luck that won't be for awhile. I think we play them soon. I'm not really paying too much attention. I was at the local pool hall and they had the Australia Japan game on live. We were sucking, losing 1 nill, and we left about 10 minutes before the game finished. Apparantly we won 3-1. Dammit.

Something like that happened in a English League game before. One team was losing 2-0 and there they about to go into extra time. So loads of the losing fans left early to get drowing their sorrows, then their time managed to get it to 3-2 in the remaining like 10 minutes.

Americans! Go back to doing a stereotypical and degrading thing Americans are stereotypically supposed to do! For as I type, I see the flag of St George hanging out of someone bedroom window, and many cars with little flags on sticks stuck to the windows. This can only mean one thing.
No, the Queen isn't dead. The World Cup has come again.
Now, I'm honestly not much of a football man, so I'll be brief. Over here, there's been nothing in the papers apart from "WILL WAYNE ROONEYS FOOT BE ALRIGHT FOR THE WORLD CUP OR WON'T IT? TODAY ITS GOOD, TOMORROW IT ISN'T! WE'LL FLIP A COIN FOR IT THE NEXT DAY AND THEN SAY ITS GOOD THE DAY AFTER!"
Quite frankly, one spud-faced monkey isn't going to win it for Britain.
So yeah, footbally ranting! Suprise me.

We had a team in the UEFA semi-final this year. Google on the net for Middlesbrough - Steaua. English were being lead 3 - 0 until the last 25 minutes (semi final is a 2 games x 90 minutes a game, mind you). Then they won 3 - 4 aggregate. yell.gif
