Deleted roles
Scenes of a group of Senators (including Padme) planning on organizing an Alliance to prevent the Chancellor from receiving any more executive powers were cut, they featured a young Mon Mothma. They were cut in order to achieve more focus on the story of Anakin.[1] George Lucas wrote early drafts of the script in which a 10-year-old Han Solo appeared, but the role was never cast or shot. However, the Millennium Falcon makes an appearance in the scene in which Anakin and Obi-wan return to Coruscant, seen as a small ship that is docking in the same port as theirs. The scene where Yoda arrives on Dagobah to begin his self-imposed exile was also cut, but is featured in a deleted scene in the DVD release, though producer Rick McCallum has stated that he hopes Lucas may include it to the theatrical release when and if he releases a 6 episode DVD box set.[1]

Many Order 66 scenes were cut. The deaths of Barriss Offee and Luminara Unduli were either cut from the film or never filmed in the first place. The death scene of Shaak Ti aboard the Invisible Hand (which can be viewed in the DVD deleted scenes section) is non-canon, as Lucas has confirmed that the character met her end later in the film at the hands of Vader, during the attack on the Jedi Temple.

Bai Ling filmed minor scenes for the film playing the role of a senator, but her role was cut during editing. She claimed this was because she posed for the June 2005 issue of Playboy magazine, whose appearance on newsstands coincided with the movie's May release, but Lucas denied this, stating that the cut had been made more than a year earlier, and that he had cut his own daughter's scenes as well.[24]

I can totally believe that GL was dumb enough to write the original script with baby Han Solo.

All he did to write the script was go down the character dossier from the OT and try to find a way to include every single person in a younger form.

All of these scenes, too, only explain the intuitive. The origins of the rebel alliance do no need an introduction nor explaination. The entire OT we never knew WHY they were fighting, we just accepted the idea that the Empire was bad and ran with it.

Same goes for Yoda and Dagobah. We are perfectly capable of understanding that Yoda goes to Dagobah without seeing it! Didn't this guy go to film school or something? How could he possibly thought that any of these scenes were good ideas???

The millenium falcon cameo, in my opinion, was perfectly acceptible because it was so subtle.

Edited for retardedness

Don't "worry" I'm sure the rebel alliance origin and all the minor characters from OT will make appearences in the upcoming TV series

Ssssooo, if a scene is never filmed, does it exist in the sub-category of scenes which were filmed (Annie tsk-tsking Greedo) and were cut (does not exist in the films- never happened!) or is it in the Jedi archives anyway (It's neccesary to know how Jedis number 19 and 27 whom nobody cares about, got killed)? Who gives a flying fuck?

The PT is for babies and fanboys still on the teet.

Wouldn't having a young Han Solo in episode 3 create continuity issues regarding his age in the original trilogy?

Making him 10 in RotS would make him about 30 by the time of the OT, which doesn't seem too far out. What it would cause problems with is the fact that he doesn't believe in the Force. A ten-year-old would be quite old enough to remember the Jedi if he ever had any sort of contact with them - and isn't Han supposed to come from one of the Core Worlds? (Correct me if I'm wrong; I don't know the EU all that well.)

Anyway, yes, I can definitely believe that GL would come up with that idea. I remember Chefelf predicting in his AotC list that we'd see a young Han Solo in the next film. Luckily, in this instance at least, Lucas seems to have seen sense.

The sandpeople had women and children. We know this because Anakin killed them how could he tell? The children might be smaller but I never saw a sandperson with breasts. Did they hike their skirts and show him some leg or something?

Also, I can see the point of wanting to kidnap a human and use her as a slave, but they didn't. They tied her to a flimsy easel for a month. It's assumed they had to feed and give her water. What for? Was she purely ornamental? I can understand them wanting the droids, you can sell those for a lot of money, but a chick who's only skills are finding non-existand mushrooms and getting randomly pregnant, you're not going to get much.

I lost faith in the prequels the moment I lay my eyes on C3PO and R2D2 in The Phantom Menace.

I just thought, what a total idiot. How soapy and tiny does he want to make his galaxy? From that point on I realized it would only continue. I'm actually surprised Han didn't make it into Episode III.

I think it would be difficult for Harrison Ford to pull off being a 10 year old. But then again Martin Short did it in Clifford.

Not mentioning, getting Harrison Ford within light years of EVER doing another Star Wars movie. His son and daughter from his second marriage wanted to see the 1997 release of the OT, but Harrison could not bring himself to see the movies again. Their mother had to take the kids to see the movies. I wonder what those kids would have been asking daddy about over the next several days? devil.gif

For some reason, I dont mind seeing Han in ROTS. Maybe he, a young Boba Fett, and a young Greedo couldve all went to the same elementary school taught by Hammerhead with the Modal Nodes as the school band and the seven breasted lady as the school nurse and Nien Nubb as the bus driver.
It seems like everyone is over the nitpicking. Too bad.

Good one, Kurgan X!

Here's another bit to think about:

Considering Rick McCallum was defending the choice to have young Boba Fett included in AotC with, "Now you understand why he wants to destroy the Skywalker family!" perhaps the inclusion of young Han Solo, ala georgelucas4greedo's suggestion of Han, Boba and Greedo going to elementary school together would explain WHY these two minor characters tried so hard to kill Han - he was better with the girls, because he was a bad boy jock, and Boba and Greedo were the whiny little bookworms he bullied in school.
