I have this idea called slave labour... you see, we take all the illegal aliens and term them into slaves for labour or sexual purposes... oh wait... we're doing that already...

It's more wonton government spending and flagrant xenophobia. It's very unnecessary, and just wastes time and money while fueling all of the blinded masses who are always ranting about illegal immagrants stealing American jobs and all that nonsense. More fences being put up won't keep anyone out that the fences already in place didn't. And last I checked, Bush openly refused to give immagrants amnesty. When did that change?

Can anybody find a copy of the bill that's being publicized? I've heard that it criminalizes any sort of assistance someone might give to an illegal immagrant (such as hospital care, food, and shelter), but I need to read the actual bill before I can properly form an opinion about it.

Yeah Bush has been listening to too much Pink Floyd.

First problem is that US corporations want illegal immigrants to come here and work cheep for them, and they're happy to pay low wages and dispose of them if they get injured or what have you. They pay politicians to allow them to do this and to keep the flow of immigrants coming. Bush can safely try to do something about the immigrant menace and then cry foul when the democrats and moderate republicans sink the bill.

It's a rallying call just like the gay marriage debate, and it's the best example of scapegoating since Hitler made up a few bills about the Jews. Seriously. The war is going horribly, the economy sucks, and gas is almost as expensive as it was in Mad Max Beyond Thunderdome. What did you expect Bush to do, try to come up with a solution? Fuck no. He goes straight to bashing the people that can't defend themselves:

"Learn English or get the fuck out, Jose!"

"Hey faggy, if you think George Bush is going to let you marry you've got another thing coming!"

He's pandering to the lowest common denominator, the ignorant southern evangelists who are more worried about whether there are Mexicans and gays in their neighborhood than about whether their kids are going to die in a war that even Bush knows we can't win.
