"We're working on it, we're working on it," Lucas told MTV. "We've been working on it for 10 years. I think it'll be a great film, but it's completely different. It's still got a lot of action, and it's still very funny. I think it works like crazy."

Very funny? and completly different?
After the SW-PT I have no more faith in this guy, hope Spielberg can say No to the Lucas crazy ideias

It wasn't enough that he had to ruin Star Wars, now he's got to go and ruin Indiana Jones. That bastard...

Yeah, they've been trying to get this going for a good long while now. About a year ago they had a script that was apparently pretty kick ass and had Spielberg, Harrison Ford, and everyone else involved completely happy.. I mean jumping for joy, holy s**t this movie is gonna rock! Happy!

And then Lucas shot it down... apparently he wasn't happy with it, or didn't feel involved enough or something like that. So they had to go back to square one. Now that Lucas is talking this one up I hope, like you do Aquaman, that Spielberg has the good sense to bring Lucas down to earth if need be.

It doesn't look too good though. Lucas was just interviewed at a big kiss ass fest (aka awards dinner) for one Mr. Sean Connery and Lucas was asked if Connery would be involved with the next Indy or not. Lucas said something to the effect of his character is in it, and we'd like Sean to be in as Poppa Indy again, but they hadn't asked yet... but the character is in and is going to stay in.

Now, this poses a problem. Either Lucas knows that Connery is going to do it because it is such a great part, and he owns it, and the movie will be that damn good; nevermind the fact that Connery has sworn off ever doing another Hollywood picture after the disaster that was League of Extraordinary Gentlemen. Or, option 2, Lucas is going to keep the character, keep the script the way it is, and just re-cast the part.

Hopefully a 3rd option will present itself if need be... Spielberg telling Lucas to get lost and ride out on the Jar Jar he rode in on. laugh.gif

Oh, yeah.. do we really need another Indy? I mean, I love them too but I don't want to ruin that love with one last horrible film just because. Look at the prequels, Jaws II, Godfather III, Superman II or III depending on who you ask, and any number of sequels that just went on too long. I'm perfectly happy with them ending as a trilogy of films, and having Last Crusade be the end.

Okay, I'm done now. biggrin.gif

Lucas is just blinded by the $$$$$$$$ That he can't see that the script might be crappy, that Harrison is old, that Connery is REALLY old, and that Spielberg is just humoring him.

It's time to move on. I mean, if they do this, it had better be as kick ass as Lucas is praising it up to be. But this dinkwad has been praising up the prequels, so.... I want him to retire and get out of the way!! Let a new generation of film-makers move in... but I'm worried about that bunch, too. They've lived and supped off the video game teat and all their movies are going to look and think like gawdamn video games.

Is there any hope?
Flying Ferret

Battle for the Galaxy--read the "other Star Wars"

All I know is I haven't seen the real prequels yet.

I enjoyed a number of good movies recently, but this goes down to taste: The Pianist, The Village, Butterfly effect as examples where Story and good acting IMO made good movies. obviously the new rule must be for every 10 movies I see, I like one and hate the other nine.

Another trick is seeing old movies that we never saw. A Good research on IMDB, a trip to Blockbuster or whatever... But it does not replace a night out to the movies.

Since it took him twenty years of work to fuck up SW maybe Indy 4 will only suck half as much.
It seems like everyone is over the nitpicking. Too bad.

That sounds like something the Wizard of Oz would say, flipping switches behind a curtain.

I hear you dude, I hear you.

And no, we do not need an Indy 4. I grew up enjoying the Indy films, and like you Jedi Aroco, I don't want that love ruined by a worthless #4. Some things are best left alone.
