I just want to create a topic that discusses garage indie bands. I want to hear about bands that I haven't heard yet so add to my list below!

My favorite bands right now that get constant play at my crib

Arctic Monkeys
Baby Shambles
Morningwood
Interpol
The Shins
Racontuers
Greenhornes

If you like that sort of music, and know of some other bands that are similar, please feel free to chat about them here!

There is so much good stuff coming out under this genre, it's almost hard to keep up with it all. I have not been this excited about music since the last great rock revival of 1991-1995.

If you like Babyshambles you might like Dirty Pretty Things, another post-Libertines band. As far as new indie rock for '06 is concerned, I like:

Aloha - "Some Echoes"
Belle & Sebastian - "The Life Pursuit"
Neko Case - "Fox Confessor Brings The Flood"
Danielson - "Ships"
The Fiery Furnaces - "Bitter Tea"
The Horror The Horror - "The Horror The Horror"
I Love You But I've Chosen Darkness - "Fear Is On Our Side"
Islands - "Return To The Sea"
Pink Mountaintops - "Axis Of Evol"
Pretty Girls Make Graves - "Elan Vital"
Sonic Youth - "Rather Ripped"
Sunset Rubdown - "Shut Up I Am Dreaming"
We Are Scientists - "With Love And Squalor"
Wolfmother - "Wolfmother"
Yeah Yeah Yeahs - "Show Your Bones"

Rather ripped dissapointed me. I expect better lyrics than "pulled your heart out of your chest/ replaced it with a grenade blast" from thurston. Jams Run Free is cool, and I liked Reena, but it felt to me like Dripping Dream or Dude Ranch Nurse, but without the mystique. Although I did recently get to listen to My Brother the Cow, by Mudhoney, which I loved, so I guess it evened out.
