If you want a game to play for half an hour a day for years, it ain't bad. The problem is, it gets kind of dull if you want something to play regularly. The graphics are getting old, and there isn't much to the game besides PvP, so my advice is to pass it by.

I didn't like it much, but the primary element in how much you like a game is how the pace fits your schedule. I had a lengthy analysis of a bunch of games from the pacing aspect somewhere, but it seems to be gone from the sites it was at. If you want a fun MMO that has some action to it, I'd recommend City of Heroes/Villains. The character designer is amazing, the graphics are pretty good and run fast, and although it can take a fair amount of grinding to level up, the combat is actually fun and interactive, unlike most of the autoattack games out there.

I'm rather passionate on the subject of MMORPGs, mostly because I've gotten a fair amount of money for writing about them. Nothing like getting paid to make you like somehting.

Do you have any opinions on Dark Age of Camelot you'd like to share?

This games rockage all depends on what your tastes are in a MMORPG. If you like PVP and not being held back by the game or rules, then yes it is made of win and awesome. If PVP is not your thing, then no, it will fail for you.

I haven't played it myself so that's all I can do for you.

DAOC was a good game, back in the day. Nowadays, it is nearly impossible to break into a ToA server, and there just aren't enough people on the Classic ones. They don't really fix anything with patches anymore, so expect to spend a lot of time learning how to build a character who can survive. Then expect to make a new one if you plan on doing PvP. Seeing how the population is going down, the lack of fixes, and the rumors that most of the staff is working on Warhammer Online, I wouldn't expect it to improve.

One of the two best PvP experiences I've ever had, however. SWG and DAOC are definately the best two PvP games I've played, although SWG has changed for the worse since then. I'm guessing DAOC has as well.
