TPM is the most memorable. I can spell it out at least.

chAOTiC Clones had the endless action at the end (with General Yoda, no less), and the SITH Ship fell apart into some vague hazy dark stretch of scenes with lizard riding, blue balls and stubby, smouldering annie. Nnnnoooo was the payoff moment for me (the film was essentially over at that point).

Why ROTS is the "best" of the prequels? I think thats easy. It looks like someone actually gave a try to tie into the classics.
Plus...I am almost feeling like am in a pink bunny suit sending this to chefelf's board but...I liked the first 20 minutes of the movie. blushing.gif They almost feel and look like a Star Wars movie...except R2D2 flying that is...

However, it's much, much better than the other two. Unfortunately, as someone pointed out in this very board, that doesn't mean a lot.

Why be embarrased to like what you like?

I agree with you Jedi. I loved the first 20 minutes (except R2 doing shit) becaused they really felt like I was watching Star Wars not dog shit.

ROTS is an enjoyable movie, but it can't be compared to the masterpieces that we call ANH and ESB and to a lesser point ROTJ.
Sorry, you won't be seeing a smartass sig here. Try with the next poster.

Because as much as you like to pretend it's not, this is a board birthed out of the idea of hating/disliking/nitpicking the prequels. He can like what he wants and the rest of us can hate it. Vive la difference!

I mean, if you go to a board about, say, cakes, and you declare that cakes are for sissy girls and delcious pies trump them in all regards, why be surprised when someone disagrees with you?

I like RotS more than the others.
Then again I also like fermented soy beans so draw your own conclusions.

Humm, good argument, you just like the movie.. because, you liked the movie.
I could use those kind of arguments on occasion.

Here's why it's the best (not really)
It's a haze to me, but I've jotted down some things I recall

War! drums.

swarm of bug droids and big space fight. Crash on some ship.

oh, that's GG. Anikan lands the ship.

some council bullshit. Anikan's trip down the darkside is almost complete. Mister Bubble floor show.

some stupid lovey-dovey scene. A poignant, decent sequence which featured Luke and Leia's parents and no dialogue.

Obi-wan't lizard ride. Clones turn. Anikan kills children.

Let's review the 7-11 videotape. Oh yeah, the Wookkiiees. friends they are.

Some fight and flight involving Yoda and the senate hovercars.

that's right, Mace went through a window. Dooku lost his dukes. It's coming back to me now.

Annie goes paranoid and needs a hug from the emperor. He and Obi-wan end up on some planet that is one big ball of lava.

Obi-wan plays butcher as Annie bar-b-ques. Palpatine boxes Vader up to go.

Hey look! there's a cgi Tarkin! Way to go, ILM!

(did I miss much?)

One of the things I enjoyed about ROTS was finally figuring out why Mustafar was one big volcano. It's really quick, and I had to slow my brother's DVD down a little to catch it again - it looks like a moon in orbit around a gas giant. Mustafar was actually based on Jupiter and Io. I have to give it to ILM, the effects were spectacular in this scene, but that is about all that I found spectacular about this movie. The story, such as it was, the dialogue and the acting were all spectacularly BAD.

What happened to the George Lucas who believed that special effects should serve the story, instead of taking place of the story? wacko.gif I seem to recall he had some rather harsh words for Star Trek: The Motion Picture, for 20 endless minutes of shots of the Enterprise model.

Why did it have to be a volcano moon? What happened to like smelting pits or something like that in an industrial-like area?
