Okay, I'm sure this has been done by others, but I mostly wanted to document the time/money I've wasted on this Star Wars franchise outside of movie tickets and DVDs/VHS tapes. Not everything on here I own, I've gotten smart lately and turned to borrowing from libraries or from friends and then returning. Of course true fanboys will laugh at my inadequate and incomplete "knowledge" of the Expanded Universe. Since the prequels steamrolled over so much and I heard about the crap in the NJO I pretty much swore it off other than the video games and the occasional comic (which I'll flip through in the store to see if it looks any good, or just read the dang thing in 15 minutes or whatever).

Okay, I may add to this if I forget anything:

Childhood stuff:

Wookiee Storybook
Star Wars: Droid World (book & record) <--- somewhat cool actually, I wish I could find it again!
Return of the Jedi (book & record)

"G-Canon" stuff:

(books & comics):

Star Wars: From the Adventures of Luke Skywalker
Star Wars novels (the 3 books in one that includes also Empire Strikes Back and Return of the Jedi in paperback form)
Empire Strikes back (comics digest)
The Phantom Menace (by Terry Brooks)
Attack of the Clones (by R.A. Salvatore)
Revenge of the Sith (by Matthew Stover)

(Radio Dramas):

Star Wars Radio Plays
Empire Strikes Back Radio Plays
Return of the Jedi Radio Plays

Other novels:

Splinter of the Mind's Eye
The Truce at Bakura
The Crystal Star
The Courtship of Princess Leia
Shadows of the Empire
Darksaber
Heir to the Empire (Timothy Zahn's 3 book cycle)
Dark Force Rising (Timothy Zahn's 3 book cycle)
The Last Command (Timothy Zahn's 3 book cycle)
Jedi Search (Jedi Academy Trilogy)
Dark Apprentice (Jedi Academy Trilogy)
Champions of the Force (Jedi Academy Trilogy)
Tales from Jabba's Palace

Comics:

Tales of the Jedi: Knights of the Old Republic
Tales of the Jedi: Dark Lords of the Sith
Tales of the Jedi: The Sith War (I think, I may be getting this confused with "Golden Age of the Sith", but I haven't read both of them)
Star Wars Infinities: A New Hope
Star Wars Infinities: Empire Strikes Back
Star Wars Infinities: Return of the Jedi
Crimson Empire
Crimson Empire II (actually started, but never finished this one)
Jedi Council: Acts of War (another one I started but never finished)
Star Wars Episode I Adventures
Classic Star Wars: Escape to Hoth
Classic Star Wars: A New Hope
Shadows of the Empire
Dark Empire
Dark Empire II
Star Wars Outlander
Jabba the Hutt: Art of the Deal
Star Wars: Union

Guides and "tech books":

Star Wars Visual Dictionary
Episode I Visual Dictionary
Attack of the Clones Visual Dictionary
Revenge of the Sith Visual Dictionary
Star Wars Incredible Cross Sections
Attack of the Clones Incredible Cross Sections
Revenge of the Sith Incredible Cross Sections
Art of Star Wars (before it was called "Arts of Star Wars A New Hope")
Art of Empire Strikes Back
Art of Return of the Jedi
A Guide to the Star Wars Universe (before it was revised and expanded)
Star Wars: Behind the Magic (CD-ROM)

Video Games:

Dark Forces (actually cheated on the last level because I had lost all patience, played the PSX version a bit just for curiosity sake)
Dark Forces II: Jedi Knight (along with the MotS expansion, my favorite pc game of all time)
Jedi Knight Companion Missions: Mysteries of the Sith (expansion)
Jedi Knight II: Jedi Outcast
Jedi Knight: Jedi Academy (great successor to the first game in many ways)
X-Wing Alliance (never finished it)
Shadows of the Empire (demo)
Star Wars Battlefront (technically finished it, never beat all the impossible Galactic Conquest missions, buggy multiplayer support)
Star Wars Battlefront II (haven't really played through the Single Player much yet, and very little multiplayer after the beta)
Star Wars (the original arcade game)
Empire Strikes Back (sequel to the first arcade game)
Atari 2600 Star Wars games (of which there were several, including Jedi Arena, that Imperial Walkers ESB one, and some one with the Millennium Falcon I never could figure out)
Star Wars Arcade (32x version and a little of the arcade version.. never beat it)
Star Wars Trilogy Arcade (awesome! Never finished all the missions together in one sitting though)
Episode I Racer (PC version, never finished it: wish I'd taken my chance to play the arcade version!)
Star Wars Demolition (Dreamcast, never finished it, sucked)
Jedi Power Battles (horrible game, PSX and Dreamcast... beat Dreamcast version I think, it was so horrible!)
Masters of Teras Kesai (PSX, wasn't as bad as I heard, but still forgetable, beat it once to unlock Vader, never played it again after that)
Episode I: The Phantom Menace (PC. played around the first level, watched my friend beat it)
Lego Star Wars (beat the demo, I think)
Republic Commando (good, but short, and fun but buggy multiplayer)
Rogue Squadron (PC, never beat it)
Episode I: Battle for Naboo (PC, also never beat it)
Rogue Squadron III: Rebel Strike (played it a little on in-store demos on the GC)
Star Wars (NES, Game Gear... just played this one a little on emulators)
Empire Strikes Back (NES, see above)
Super Star Wars (SNES, see above)
Super Empire Strikes Back (SNES, see above)
Super Return of the Jedi (SNES, see above, friggin frustrating first level, gave up and never beat the first level!)
Rebel Assault (only played this one a little on the PC)
Rebel Assault II (skipped my way through the game using cheats just to play the interesting parts. Decent game despite being a rail shooter, too bad it hasn't aged well compared to DVD video, sadly)

RPGs:

Technically I haven't played the Star Wars RPG or the Customizable Card game. I looked at some of the cards though and almost got into a game, and skimmed the AOTC and TPM expanded RPG source books in anticipation of playing the game (but never got a chance to).

That's... umm... I really don't know whether I should describe it as amazing, crazy or just as an indicator to too much spare time...

... how long has it been since you last saw the sun?

In my defense:

And the funny thing is, I'm not even exceptional in this! wink.gif

Honestly the last Star Wars book I read was the ROTS novelisation in June 2005. Apart from the prequel books I linked, I hadn't read anything Star Wars in years except a few comics (and comics do NOT take long to read). Those who keep up, I don't know how they do it, unless Star Wars is their only fandom, and I KNOW it isn't!

As far as games go, I left out the big time wasters like the super popular KOTOR series and SWG, which I haven't played (and probably never will pick up SWG since by all counts it sucks).

I forgot to add I played the Empire at War demo. wink.gif

I didn't play it very much. The graphics were much more primitive than RA2. Basically they gave you the part of "Rookie 1" a generic farmboy dude who takes the place of Luke, flying missions leading up to the battle of Yavin. You get to fly through Beggar's Canyon in your T-16 Skyhopper IIRC. If you can stomach the obsolete video graphics it might be worthwhile, but it wasn't anything that really wowed me having cut my teeth on RA2 before checking it out. Probably super cheap nowadays though!

If anything you should keep on getting the EU books.
The last few have been really good.
And the Star Wars Legacy comics,
they are a bit of a stretch but a good read.
Don't lose faith i'm sure there will be even more stuff for you,and all of us to spend money on.

Kurgan's correct, that is hardly exceptional. I'm no fan of the EU but my personal list is over twice the length of his.

I was raised on Star Wars, I remember watching the OT at age 3. When the PT was announced, I was very enthused, and unlike a lot of other longtime fans, I happen to think the PT is a fitting homage to the OT.

I started to sour on the EU around age 16 though, when I realized most of the authors don't have a clue what is canonical in Star Wars and what isn't. Then you have some of the main characters acting completely out of character, as well as the yay-apocalypse-fest the New Jedi Order line is....

I needn't continue. I'm not a fan of the EU, only the canon.
