Well, the third series is over now, and I'm not sure who else kept up with and watched it as it aired in the UK, so I'll just leave this question ambiguous. Those who have seen the finale will know whom I'm talking about.

Is it a sign that I've become a bit too emotionally attached to a character when their death makes me cry like a baby?

Seriously, I don't think I've ever cried like that over the death of any other character. crying.gif

ADDITIONAL: I can't stop listening to Voodoo Child and I Can't Decide now (the latter is currently playing on repeat happy.gif ). I just want to dance around the house like HE was doing.

You mean you didn't cry at the end of Blackadder Goes Forth?!

I got choked up over that, but I didn't cry my eyes out all through the scene and the rest of the episode, then again for another ten minutes or so after the show ended, and then off and on again every time I thought too hard about it for the rest of the night with that one.

Two things, barend.

One: how did you not die of alcohol poisoning long ago?

And two: REALLY REALLY WANT.

Dude! You're leaving out "The Pirate Planet" -- one of the best episodes evar. It's a Tom Baker, and it's written by Douglas Adams.

You might have to get "The Key of Time" series of 6 episodes to get "The Pirate Planet" (it's the 2nd one); I have the Key of Time boxed thingie on VHS from back in the day.

I'm well aware of the Key to time series release. I'm wating for the UK release as it shall have additional material and cover artwork that matches my collection. (not the 2 minute photoshop efforts of the US releases). Unfortunatley it shan't be available until late september, but I am glad I waited.

and yes jane, It's a miracle I'm alive at all. But it is nice to not have to agonise over whether or not to buy things i want as a result of literally pissing away my money.

Oh, I love Eight! Absolutely love him!

But the movie...not so much. Thank god for spin-off media!

You know, I felt a beam of sunshine enter my heart when I read the interview in which David Tennant said he'd love some "Three Doctors"-type stories with Eccleston and McGann. Personally, I think that'd be the best thing to happen to Doctor Who since the Master was brought back in Utopia. happy.gif

But, never mind what I think; how do you feel about all this? smile.gif

REALLY, REALLY WANT.

(Sorry, too much macro making and reading...)

I've built up my own blind hope that, since the next series will be the thirtieth overall, they'll be a multi-Doctor story just like they had in the tenth and twentieth series. And even though RTD said there would be no multi-Doctor stories, he also said he wasn't going to bring the Master back.

RTD LIES.

So yes, I am getting my hopes up for it. Especially since McGann deserves more screen time as the Doctor.

(You know, if they did something animated they could have a story with at least seven Doctors if they all agreed to it - all ten if they find people who can convincingly sound like Hartnell, Troughton, and Pertwee.)

I'm just hoping that, in one of these multi-Doctor stories, they'll provide the explanation for how Eight regenerated into Nine. They have to; one of these days... sad.gif

Not necessarily... sad.gif

And I can't quite remember if it was in an article, interview, or fan theory, but wasn't it said he regenerated at the end of the Time War?

I need to go look that up later...

Must be a fan theory; I don't think I've heard anything official on it... unsure.gif

I've been watching the Tom Baker series from the beginning, and I was happily impressed by the length of the episodes. Overall, it's just plain delightful. Cheesy old special effects, hillarious writing, so much silly charm. I wish Sarah Jane would stop being the token screaming girl, soon, though. Break out of your silly gender roles, Companions!

I also watched the episode of the new Doctor Who where Ms. Smith returns, but I haven't seen the first incarnation of K-9 yet, so he was partially lost on me, but it's great to see that the show still has some charm.

I've had to skip around a bit, but I'm on Genesis of the Daleks, and it's two hours and ten minutes long!!! I don't know when I'll have time to watch and finish it.
