Do you know that Serenity was voted the best indie Sci-fi film of all times? I wish I had patince to watch all of the firefly when I had a chance, and Serenity, too, but it looked to me quite superficial at a first glance, and when something does not engage me within the first 20 minutes, I get easily bored - short attention span, I am afraid.

COncernign the shows which were cut down too early - Jericho, anyone? Gee, what with all that campaigning and stuff, theey did not want to shell out some dollars at least to make a complete series 2? What a shame...

You notice how those votes of "best X of all time" always result in a product that came out in the last 10 years? And in this case, no kidding that thing won. Joss Whedon has a loyal fanbase, and if he makes something that can be called indie science fiction, then it's the best indie science fiction of all time. Even if, you know, it looks like a lot of other stuff already out there and it's mostly jokey.

I'm not sure what classifies a film as "indie" anymore, since there are so many studios now and some of the films that were indies before came out of what are or were receently very large production companies. But if "made with your own money" makes something indie, then the prequels were indies. I haven't seen all of the prequels, and I haven't seen SERENITY, but yeah, SERENITY's better.

I liked Serenity, but no way would I agree that it's the best Sci-Fi of all time.

"Best indie sci-fi of all time."

I'd like a list of all-time indie sci-fi. I can't think of too many. I liked PRIMER ...

Whoops! I missed the Indie bit (despite the repetition ;-)

That being the case Serenity would come close.
