I think nearly all the things that bother me in these new films comes from the contradictions, if only because some of them would be quite easy to fix (Leia remembering Padme springs to mind). That and the editing. Actually most of my complaints are probably cosmetic.
At the same time, what some maintain as contradictions dont bother me at all. Its hard not to miss Owens insistance on getting Luke to erase the droids memories when the subject of Anakin comes up, or why Obi didnt recognise a mass produced R2 unit, but mostly maybe i'm just giving Lucas some leway in letting him tell the story how he wanted to tell it.

of course if owen recognised them he just wouldn't have bought them.
and Obiwan was teasing R2 alot in ROTS and didn't he fly with him in AOTC... he had a fair bit of interaction with him. R2 doesn't really flare up until he admits his name IS obiwan... R2 should have recognised HIM.
As for letting lucas tell it his way, i appreciate the sentiment, but things like this are pretty sloppy all up.
