I know quite a few folks from who have lived in and visited Alaska, and they all say it’s the most beautiful place they have ever seen. Personally I don’t think I could handle 2 months of summer that only got into the mid 70s for a high. But I could definitely visit. ?The exchange rate between the US and Canada has improved a great deal (for us) in the past few years. It's something like 85 cents to the dollar or something now.

The midwest is a wonderful part of our country. Solid values, pluckey attitude. Four seasons and none of the stigma of the south (where I was born, and currently reside). But I'm damn glad I was brought up in the American Midwest!

Actually I'm quite fond of Northern California. I've spent some time in the Florida Keys, which are very pretty, and I wouldn't mind spending more time in Michigan, but not in the winter. Because it's cold. And I'm a baby.
