I'm trying to improve my skills with this drawing technique that only uses simple white lines to carve the presentiment of a human body out of a black background. After a few experiments (quality reaching from "ugh - burn it, quick!" to mediocre), I've finally managed to get something done that looks pretty darn close to a human... or maybe that's just wishful thinking from my side... *sigh*.

Anyways, here it is:

I'll call her "Dawn"... or maybe "Porn disguised as Art".

I'm desperately studying nature, different methods of applying those lines, human bodies and some nice poses now, but I'm quickly reaching my limits here, so I thought maybe I should ask you guys for some ideas, hints, suggestions, criticisms or whatever comes to your mind. Just blurt it all out.

Thanks in advance.

It is nice. Have you thought about making comic strips with that technique? I don't know but the atmosphere of this picture reminded me of Sandman comics, something dark and slightly shocking.

Actually, that was the plan... but it's one hell of a lot work. It took me hours to get Dawn finally down (leaving out the time I spent on the other experiments and the sketches) and I don't even want to think about drawing whole scenes in that style. pinch.gif
Maybe I just need a little bit more exercise... and if all else fails, then I'm simply going to make a catalogue consisting of women posing in a rather lewd manner - that should sell pretty good, too. wink.gif

I've tried to produce another image in a very short time period, just to see whether it could be done or not. You might find some more flaws in my technique here which Dawn couldn't reveal.

No title this time.

I didn't give her a name, since I'm afraid that there's not enough of a soul in her. I've tried to use less lines, slightly wrong proportions and a more simple style, to add some comic-effect. Also, while I do love the completely white lips, I didn't go for white pupils this time, since it just didn't look right. Maybe this alternative is better after all.

Nice. I like this eye treatment better.

Ya; it's enchanting to draw that subject matters.

Those are her arms
Apparently writing about JM here is his secret weakness. Muwahaha!!!! Now I have leverage over him and am another step closer towards my goal of world domination.

"And the Evil that was vanquished shall rise anew. Wrapped in the guise of man shall he walk amongst the innocent and Terror shall consume they that dwell upon the Earth. The skies will rain fire. The seas shall become as blood. The righteous shall fall before the wicked! And all creation shall tremble before the burning standards of Hell!" - Mephisto

Kurgan X showed me this web comic done with Legos. It pokes fun at all six Star Wars films and I found it to be extremely entertaining.

Indeed, those should be the arms... I guess I should have put some more contrasts to indicate the borders better. This way it looks like she's an elf or simply a girl with a pointy ear.

I'm practicing the new eye treatment and some facial expressions right now, as can be seen in 'tis 'ere picture -

This be Jules.

I think I'm getting more and more the hang of it. Added a little reflection to the pupils, I think that was the right choice. I originally wanted her to bite her lip a little, but this version simply looked better.

Oh, I think I remember some of those pictures... way back in the old days when absolutely everything was heavily pixelated... went like:

"Whoa!"
"Whoa indeed."
"Is that a nipple?"
"Nah, maybe just her elbow."
"But it could be a nipple, right?"
"Sure, with some imagination everything could be a nipple."
"Awesome... *drool*."
"Yeah, sure, whatever... now quit playing Mario Bros."

The rear displayed in the second picture didn't really please me, so I thought I'd practice that a little.

Gaze upon Laetitia.

I'd originally planned to only draw her lower part, but I got a little carried away and before I knew it, I was fondling around with her hairdo... well, at least now I see that I'll have to practice hands a little more... hmm... a sexy pose with some well visible hands for the next picture... let's see...

Hm... That one seems to be missing a head. You should add something to that hairdo...It look like a one big eye...
