If The Prequels Were A Live-Action Series Would that Have Made It More Interesting?

I believe that had the Prequels been made into
a live-action television series rather than films things might have turned out
alot better. I understand that people may enjoy them in their present form, others completely loathe them and some are divided on the subject.

The problem with the prequels is that alot of things felt rushed and since they are only 2 hours of film per movie alot is left unexplored and its many characters that we really don't get to know because of the limited time frame. Granted it might be an expensive show, but it can be done if a limit is set, and it would no doubt be watched by many. Things could have taken a slower pace. The Jedi Purge would have been the highlight of later seasons. The flims never gave people time to like Anakin and have any sympathy for his character's fall, a series could have dug deeper into his character, as well as various other characters too.

I feel that had the Prequels been made into a series then Anakin's childhood, and Jedi training and young adulthood could have been better explored, his relationship with Padme and Obi-Wan Kenobi and the Clone Wars, other characters such as the Jedi and Sith Order could have been more developed and we could have seen things in more detail and with a better perspective. Lucas could have left Star Wars ANH the way it originally was, I could have settled for big screen adaptions of the Star Wars Sequels. Does anyone else think it could have been better or worse by taking this route?

Well let me see...I never had a problem sympathizing with Han, Leia, and Luke. Most of the other characters i.e Lando, Fett, I was able to construct imaginative tales about them. I loved Vader, I thought he was an awesome character. The point is, since the OT did it in three movies, the PT shouldve done the same. The problem has nothing to do with time or characters, it has to do with Lucas' ability to construct a plot.
It seems like everyone is over the nitpicking. Too bad.

Very True and I'm not disputing that fact. But with the many sub-plots and a few interesting characters surrounding the prequels 6+ hours of film would hardly do it justice. Personally I felt that Lucas should have jumped to the main points by making Anakin alot older in Episode 1 and not cluttering up the films with unescessary characters. By the way the Prequels turned out, it look as if it would have been better as a tv series, it also allows for larger number of characters to be introduce and have their roles expanded. Anakin/Vader's origin is but a small portion of what a long lasting tv series could have done.

Sadly, I think a television version of the prequels would've turned out as well as the Ewok films and it would've given more room to more inconsistencies. Although, I see the appeal of doing a longer format to flesh things out, and I agree that would've/could've been an interesting way of portraying it, but the quality would just be low and the acting sub-par, just as it will with the new proposed television series---which will also spring up more inconsistencies.
Flying Ferret

Battle for the Galaxy--read the "other Star Wars"

All I know is I haven't seen the real prequels yet.

If the acting is better than anything that was shown in the 3 films, then I welcome it.
I'm also starting to believe that had Lucas had a very modest budget and limit, it
probably would have forced him to actually tell a better story and give lesser
priority to the Special Effects. As you stated Lucas would have found a way to
raise more questions than answer them, resulting in more inconsistencies however with the future television series Lucas will turn over everything to other writers once he starts out with
the first season, so it might actually be BETTER in terms of storyline than the prequels.
