Observe the total coolness of this guy. Marvel at how he easily defeats Bowser.

Yell at me for spamming the forum with useless links, which you may have seen. But if you haven't... This guy is unstoppable.

He did use glitches, but that doesn't make him any less cool.

Yeah, that guy is pretty much the coolest guy ever. Even cooler than the guy who beat SMB3 in 11 minutes.

But, at this guy's rate, you had... two hours to do so. A star a minute. Did you do it?

I was proud of myself because I got all 120 stars in 4 hours and 15 minutes. I was pretty good at that damned game. Still, at this guy's flawless rate it would take him 2 hours to get all 120 stars.

That's a friggin' hard game.

I've seen a speed run where a guy did the entirety of Super Mario World(that's every level, including all the secret levels)in about 90 minutes or so. No link, sorry, it was on my friends hard drive.

I don't think this is possible on the N64, he seems to be moving faster than the N64 will ever allow to. The emulator he used must have given him an edge in timing respects. I'm talking about a tiny speed difference though.

I suppose he could never complete with 120 stars in 2 hours though, most stars aren't reachable within 1 minute of entering a game. If the game didn't throw you out of a level after getting a star then I would say otherwise, but as it does, I would be willing to bet that you cannot complete Super Mario 64 with all 120 stars in 120 minutes.

If you notice, he only went for stars that are easily reachable.

Man,..I must be getting old..nowadays I commend myself for just beating some games..period.

but yet, beating games in less time than they were originally intended takes me back to the good ole NES days, when my nephew used to think he was so damn cool for using warps to skip through various worlds on Super Mario Brothers (1985).

Its things like this, that makes you take a step back and scratch your chin in confusion....especially taking into consideration that the Super NES was reknowned for having a rather slow processor. Did any of these kids in question do any type of technical modifications to the hardware to make it run faster?

When people do speed runs, sometimes they do edited ones where they go frame by frame to get perfect timing and reload their save states until everything is flawless.
