Yes, I, on my very own website, have finally done an update.

That is, I copied one from my old blog.

But read anyway!

It's on the site. THe one in my sig.

Right. THe site didn't update. Odd.

So sorry. It updated. WIth the beginning of the next one.

Actually, the problem is mine. The comp froze, and I assumed that the message to update had gotten through.

Umm... I don't really want to criticize people that much since it always makes me look like a twat, but... hell... that layout of your site makes it somewhat painful to read. Although the content is actually very very good and entertaining.

And now please excuse me, for I must kill myself in order to regain the honour I lost through criticizing a noble civilian with an awesome avatar-picture. ph34r.gif

Well, yeah, I imagine if I didn't always update whilst half asleep, it would severely increase the formatting readability.

Actually, you're completely right Gobbler. Disregarding wether your articles are actually good or not Otal, your site needs a major facelift. The text is hard to read and doesn't even show up in some places (in the COBNAT article it's the same color as the background). You need an archive page and you need to provide links to past works, neither of which you're doing now. And as much as you like MASH, that background picture needs to go. Seriously. =/ You should go for a solid color scheme, and I've got some good ideas in mind.

I suppose I'd do all that for you if you want. I don't mind doing it, but something has to be done with your layout.

Yeah, it really does. As for the COBNAT-inspired article, I didn't intend it to be seen until I was done.

And the background picture was relevant to Suicide is Painless.

Whoa, that's gotta hurt...

... but anyways, why don't we start an initiative? A new layout for Total Otal - everyone's invited, except for Otal himself, since we can't let him lose even more sleep.

Well, since you're using Tripod and not basic HTML you made yourself, I can't just write you some new site code. If you want me to make a new layout for you, you'll have to let me know basically what you want, and you're going to have to give me the password and username you use to make the site. I'm not going to go apeshit and delete everything and change the password, I promise. But that's the only way I can think of doing it =/.

Actually, I could make a completely new site, then give you my name and password, but then your site would be at a new domain address.

Considering that Tripod's not really the number one choice for a decent presentation, I'd go for that option.

Actually, I meant another Tripod site. JM's looks great, it's a very simple design. I don't actually know any other places where I could get free hosting. If you know any that let me use basic HTML, let me know. I'm fairly good with that. (I'm taking a class at school. Damn teacher sucks, I've had to learn it all myself. :P)

I once had possessed some free webspace at arcor.de... well, won't help you much, I guess, but there are lots of other places where you can get some space without those frikkin' ads... can't name any at the moment, though.

But well, for the sake of Otal's writings, I'd even be willing to spare some of my own webspace and a subdomain, if desired. It comes with PHP, CGI and PERL support, no frikkin' advertisement (if not wanted, that is), some other goodies and a dedicated webmaster (yes, I'm bragging about myself now). I'd also be able to give some more or less professional help regarding HTML & PHP code and could create some graphics here and there.

That, of course, is only a very selfish offer, just so you can consider some more possibilities.

If all else fails, the people that do my hosting do a very good free hosting deal. Shame about the massive banners they stick on, but its apparently only a dollar a month to get rid of them.

Erm, I'm still up for doing your site Otal, I'm just waiting for you to approve and tell me what you want, if you want me to do it at all.
