There is also the patronization of senior citizens.

For example, we say they shouldn't be on the road driving, because they are old, and their judgement is not near as good as it once was. And that they put other people's lives in danger.

That is another example of age descrimination.

No, that's an example of actually caring about their and our health.

They also discriminate the young citizens:

For example, we say they shouldn't be on the road driving, because they are young, and their judgement is not near as good as it once was. And that they put other people's lives in danger.

That is another example of age descrimination.

Yes, I think it could be to do with how well they are taught and how they perform.

I might have mentioned this before.

Years ago when I went into the Cinema:
They called me a child when I wanted to see a film and refused to let me in until I showed them proof.

They called me an adult when they wanted me to pay the full bus fare.

When I want Something I was demeaned to a child.

When they wanted something from me they classed me an adult.

I think I should start a new thread on driving.

I just moved into my new dorm room, and public bathrooms and dialup aside...

...

(*sings ala Peter Griffin*)

MY GOD, THIS ROOM IS FREAKIN' SWEET! laugh.gif

This place is huge! And it's got carpet! And four closets! (I have a private room, so everything is MINE! tongue.gif ) A medicine cabinet (I've never had one of those before!) and mirrors, a bureau, desks, and real beds with real headboards and box springs! And not those solid lumps you get with new box springs, I'm talking good old-fashioned, creaky, made-for-jumping-on box springs! laugh.gif And my own thermostat inside the room! I can keep it as cold or hot as I like!

(*happity-happity joy-joy dance*)

Now if I could just find a way to get curtains up over those two huge-ass windows...
Check out my crappy drawings!

Nah, carry on with your happy couply tidings, 'cos I'm having a go too...

EM: Just got back from Wales, and the best weekend I've had the best weekend I've had in a long time. The missus (the new one!) was having a party, and... erm... I've just plain had a damn good weekend?

Follow-up Elated Moment: I didn't get the "MY SKULL IS ON FIRE!" side effect from the medicine I took this time, and my migraine was gone after about an hour. YAY for no unbearable throbbing head pain! (See complaint thread)

Elated Moment: I have written a Python script based on a Perl script that I wrote earlier, which was in turn based on another Perl script a friend helped me write before I learned Perl, that automates some simple stuff that our Linux email server can do. It works, and it's not buggy, and it's shiny and concise and commented and YAY! Now I have to write one that uses this script, and then another which just adds a string to a list of strings and alphebetizes them for me and I'll be the Script Man. I'm done with this job at the end of the week, so I want to go out with a bang.

Funny, I always imagined "going out with a bang" a bit differently. Like that login-program we wrote for our school... it was way too professional, so we built in a little function that will make the program stop working in a year if they don't buy a licence from us. And no, meddling with the system clock won't help, no~oh, uh~uh.

Heh. Well, I like these guys. tongue.gif Me going out with a bang is translated into "Getting every single thing that I haven't finished yet done."

And I just now realized that my girlfriend posted! It is indeed our Firstiversary this evening. biggrin.gif wub.gif wub.gif We've been together for one happy year, with many more to come.

Edit: "For", not "with"!

That is something I would like to get done for that charger to get the script working but I think it is going to take me a long time to understand how Perl works first. There are problems with the serial port module.

Perl's actually not that difficult to learn, it just has a lot of unique quirks and special variables to keep track of. This link really helped me out.

Thanks, Natalie.

Elated Moment: Had a very nice Firstiversary last night. Also only 4 days of work left. I can sleep in again, soon! At least for a week. Then I go back to college and have a morning class or two.
