David, you must be on the quarter schedule. I'm on the semester schedule - same classes from early August till mid-December, then a new set of classes starting early January until mid-May. Sometimes I wish we were on the quarter schedule, but then I realize that Christmas Break would be smack-dab in the middle of a semester... My art professors would have entirely too much fun with that.

Actually, in my university, we have seminars and lectures. We take care of seminar exams this week and next week, after that, in 2 weeks' time, come the big fucker exams, that are built upon the lecture material.

Wow. I didn't think they could get a stupider schedule than the quarter system, but I guess it's possible. Having your quarter cut in half by 2-4 weeks of break (always 2 for us, because we're not allowed to get as much time off as anyone else because our college hates us) is shitty, but dropping your break in with only a week or two before exams? MADNESS! Why is this in the rejoicing thread?
