I have both TPM and AOTC. I don't yet have ROTS and am in no rush to get it.

I got the first two strictly for the pretty eye candy, and I bought them used so that I didn't have to pay full price for them. (I've never seen any of the prequels in theaters.)

I don't really HATE the prequels per say. Sure, I hate parts of them, just like I hate parts of the Special Editions. I consider them mostly inferior to the classic trilogy (though I put the second half of AOTC, and ROTS above parts of the OT in terms of entertainment value IMNSHO). I would have felt guilty about buying TPM DVD had I not gotten it cheap & used though.

Granted, it's also the lowest in terms of visual quality of the SW DVD's, but I didn't have anything to really compare it to at the time I got it to see the difference.

Mostly, I hate the PT, while liking elements of them immensely. I’m a sucker for a good sword fight so I like those. I think Ewan McGregor is a beautiful human being so I enjoyed watching him. I’ve completely blocked AOTC from memory and its working out well for me. I liked when the Jedi got wasted in ROTS. That’s about it. Mostly I try to pretend they never happened. I can consider the EU more apart of the star wars universe than the PT.

I hate just about every aspect of the PT's, save the Maul vs Qui Gonn and Kenobi fight.

The films had terrible acting, plot line, boring visuals (over kill), and no suspense/intrigue etc...

The PT's should have never been done.

Well put, I can feel for Luke.

They shouldn't even share fan conventions.

The PT and the OT are completely different movies and I don’t even consider the PT apart of the Star Wars universe. I have quite successfully blocked it out. I proved it could be done the other day when I watched ESB. At no point during the movie did I subconsciously try to associate the stupid crap in the PT with the characters on the screen. When I saw Darth Vader, not once was I forced to remember the little blond boy shouting ‘yippee’ to his little green buddy Greedo. When I watched silently in suspense, as one-hand-Luke inched his way towards the end of that big antenna thing, not once did I think to myself, ‘hey, that’s Anakin/Haden’s son.' No sir! Those were different movies all together, and they have no place under the Star Wars heading.

Gods I hate George Lucas!

I am ashamed to own that I got AOTC for 29.99 PLN which is about 9 USD. Is is much less than the average DVD here, so I bougth it. I suppose what tempted me was the fact that ROTS was so horrible that it made me think better about AOTC - I have only seen it once on the big screen, so I suppose three years blurred some of its awfulness.

But after watching it once again, I must take back what I thought it being better than ROTS - it is not. Both films are teeth -achingly terrible.

AOTC is one of the worst movies ever! Its right up there with Mighty Ducks 3.

I almost feel sorry for Lucas at this point. I really do. When I ever I cheap shot him I always feel guilty. You can only kick a man so many times before you start to feel pity.

EVERYONE. Do this if you haven't already.

Get the highest quality VHS or Laserdisc of the original versions of ANH, ESB, and ROTJ you can find, and copy them to DVD.

Then, have someone drop a flower pot on your head, so when you wake up, you will not know about the special editions or prequels, and when you get home you will find a nice set of 3 timeless masterpieces waiting for you.

OR...you could go and download one of a billion different fan preservations of the OT. Do a little reseach and figure out which one is right for you. Personally, I have the Cowclops version 2 set (which is a good laserdisc rip with the best audio out of any transfer) and I also own Orange Cow Production's CLASSIC EDITION of the three OT films...which uses the DVD for all the scenes that were never changed/edited...and matte's in the laserdisc footage around the stuff that was changed (dewbacks, sarlaac pits, rontos, misc. flying droids, etc.) while preserving some old 70mm and 35 mm sound mixes.

both are absolutely wonderful.

LOL, abbey you must be new to PT bashing scene. Give it time. I feel remorse for Hayden Christensen mostly. I do feel bad for Lucas because he failed to achieve something. I honestly believe that if he could, he'd erase the last three films from history and start all over again.

He says he did what he wanted to do, but I don't buy that for one minute.

Feeling bad for stupid people and their stupid decisions is a waste of my time and humanity's. When you start 'feeling bad' for people, you start condoning further stupidity.

Yeah your probably right. He would erase them from history. Then he'd proceed to remake them even crappier. I stand by my original statement.
