I still dont think he could have made his lines work - you cant act your way out of a crappy script

I disagree. Harrison Ford managed to pull it off in Episode 4-6.

And we loved it. Mostly.

Hayden loved it, and we hated it. Mostly.

LOL, Lucas ruined the actors lives. Poor Hayden and Jake. These guys are going to have serious emotional issues as the grow older. They must feel terrible for ruining starwars. It wasn't their fault of course, but I'm sure they can't help but feel bad.

You can't blame all of this on the lines. He's a terrible actor. Sure he's a kid, but that doesn't completely excuse the piss poor job he did. I just watched the movie again last night. And I can say, beyond a doubt, that he is the worst actor, of any age, I've seen on film.

If you think he did a decent job, watch the scene where they first meet him in Watto's shop again.

Yeah, he really is, and when I first heard that Jake Lloyd was getting the part, I had to check out "Jingle All the Way" and that was one of my first fears that TPM was going to be bad. I mean---Jake Lloyd was HORRIBLE!! I tried to pass it off as, "okay, he's young," but jeez, Halley Osment (sp?) from "Sixth Sense" was young, too, and could definitely act his way out of a paper bag.

My first real worry about TPM was the role itself. "A 9 year old Vader? WTF!?" That's no way to start off a Star Wars series!!

Battle for the Galaxy--read the "other Star Wars"

All I know is I haven't seen the real prequels yet.

Dakota's got a huge pair of bull's balls on her compared to Jake Lloyd. I bet he doesn't even play with his action figure. I can just imagine how Dakota would deliver the lines "I hate sand" "Are you an angel?" and "I'm not a slave, I'm a human being!" not to mention the ad lib inspired by Bruce Campbell's Ash character directed toward Padme, "Come here baby and give daddy some sweet sweet sugar!"

Again, blaming a 9 year old kid for a poor performance, when he was given a terrible script, cringingly awful dialogue and probably NOTHING resembling real direction is rather harsh, don't you think?

That kid in Superman returns was pretty good. I mean, his portrayal didn't make one wrong move and go BOOOM!

No, you're right. JL is just the Ollie North of TPM.

Has Harrison ever directly said that he hates Han Solo?
