Here's the new trailer for Silent Hill (from Yahoo Movies).

A few details.

Directed by Christophe Gans and written by Roger Avery.
I'm ambivilant about Gans, but i'm excited about Avery's involvment. I really liked his adaptation of 'The Rules of Attraction'. Appartantly dialogue is kept to a minimum, and the trailer seems fairly faithful to the game. They've kept that excellent guitar score from the second (best) SH game anyway.

My only real concern is the CGI, which looks ropey in places. Still, i'm looking forward to it. It's looking like being the best game-film transfer yet.

The poster is great too.

Thoughts?

EDIT- see the trailer in lovely quicktime...

I have no opinion of my own, everyone says it will be good, I say the same thing.

I'm still looking forward to this movie, ever since a long, long time ago when they began filming in my city... before almost anyone knew. tongue.gif

If you look closely in the trailer, you can see Pyramid Head apparently.

I saw it on the Friday it came out, and me and my boyfriend loved it.
lol.
But a lot of people didn't like it. sad.gif
It was a helluva lot more faithful to the games than Resident Evil was, though. smile.gif

Rather sad, it isn't even being advertised here yet. I don't think we'll get it until next year, by the looks of things. Nobdy's heard of it. Then again, I wouldn't have heard of the games if it wasn't for Yahtzee.

Personally, I thought the movie was pretty bad. It just failed to deliver. The story was pretty bland, the acting was pretty uninteresting, and the ending left more than a little to be desired. Really, the only positives were seeing locations that I frequent all the time transformed into a relatively eerie atmosphere. The monsters were pretty cool, though, and provided some creepiness.

Heccubus: That sounds just like the games. I guess they translated it well. Though the "What the fuck is that thing?" surrealist moments are more enjoyable when you're interacting with the world, even if it is in a clunky interface with poor control, I would think. I haven't seen the movie, but maybe soon.
