Somehow, I am actually liking this character. The more I read about him, I see a different side of him rather than "The old guy that beat Anakin in EP II." He has qualities that don't really make him Sith so to say. I see him more as a Dark Jedi.

I think that his popularity would have been increased had he been, I dunno, 40 years younger. I just didn't think it very cool to see an old guy moving like that. As for Yoda, different subject all together.

He could have used a jet pack. And a helmet. He was Boba's Uncle Dooku.

Yet another wasted opportunity.

Yoda dead? Come on that would never work.
How would Luke know what to do.
Wait no forget that.
If yoda died so would Anakin and Obi-wan
(if they didn't roll out of the way).
Which would be hard because
Anakin was on Obi-wan's leg.
And he was clearly and completely
invalid for the 6 seconds he was down.
So really if Yoda had died at the hands of Count Dooku
so would Anakin.... which means Pame would never had
gotten knocked up (at least by him)
and the Sith would take over.
The Chosen One would just have to
be sumone else.

Ahh, but that would have brought balance to the force a whole lot quicker! With just Dooku and Palpatine, they would have use the clones right away to mop up any remaining Jedi. I'm sure for another movie though, ironicaly, it would be Windu to take down Dooku and possibly Palps. Windu had Palpatine on a silver platter. It was Anakins interference that cost Windu his life, plus, Windu loved the Republic more than the Jedi way. He wanted to defend the Republic from the Sith most of all. I think he could have done it, esecially if he went into hiding, found a force addept and trained him/her. But that would push an EP III and then EP III/5 upto and including EP IV, without Obi-wan or Luke.

It would probably deal with an older Windu and his student trying to stop Palps and a near dead Dooku. If he isn't dead already...

And this would actually make Lucas' whole concept more real. He wanted the main character to be named Mace Windu, originally from Utapu. But then he tinkered around with the names Anakin, Starkiller, Skywalker, and some other nonsense that we know of and hate today.

Really i had no idea Mace was GL's original vision.
In any case i'm sure the universe would've

balanced itself out by forcefully killing
most of the jedi.

Spontanious Combustion?
the only ones to survive....

probably would be Mace, Yoda,
Shaak-Ti and Luminara Unduil on the good side.

See balance biggrin.gif

I'm sure Palpatine and Dooku would live and maybe even Assajj Ventress
The new generation would be awesome and the Chosen One would be sumone who is

far superior to Anakin in everyway.
Which brings me to my next point,

if Paps could keep people alive then
what the hell happen with

Dooku or even better Darth Maul.
That should've tipped Anakin off right

away that this guy was talking out of his ass.

Especially when padme,
died that would've been my first arguement

I always liked Dooku. He seemed like he was actually trying to achieve positive change and had just gone down the wrong path in the process. He was elegant and honorable, not a cackling maniac like Palpatine or a brute like Maul. From what I've read of him in the books, he saw the Dark Side as a tool rather than a way of life; he used his anger in a calculated way to achieve his ends. In that respect I think that he was definitely more of a Dark Jedi than a true Sith Lord.

Well, I wouldn't say that Maul was a brute, but rather a very strong willed apprentice to his masters cause. He was so devoted to his master that he never wanted to kill him as the Sith would have it. Maul was conned into wanting to kill Palps. Maul was the hired muscle and acted only on orders, never out of his own hatred against anything. Though he did lack patience, his dicipline and devotion to Palps is what kept him in obedience to him. I really like Maul because of this.

But I do agree with you fully about Dooku being more of a Dark Jedi rather than a true Sith. He kind of reminds me of the stories of Revan, using the Dark Side as a tool to accomplish something great, rather than just hurting a bunch of people.

In my opinion, PT Anakin seems more a brute than anything. Selfish, stubborn, insubordinate, and wreckless. He was far too impatient to hear much of anything out except for only what he wanted. His fighting style as Vader shows him to be hammering away at his opponents. Look at EP V when he's facing Luke.

OMG!!!!

i think for most of my star wars loving life
i have been trying to get to that point.
It's so true it's SCARY

Except recently i've had a few sympathic feelings towards
Anakin and his twisted mess.
Why?!!!?
I have No idea

In AOTC, we see Dooku duel Obi-Wan, Anakin, and Yoda without breaking a sweat. After him and Yoda get into saber lock, Dooku uses the Force to make some large object fall and attempt to crush Anakin and Obi-Wan. As soon as he does this, Yoda puts his saber away and focuses on saving Obi-Wan. My question is, why doesn't Dooku just decapitate Yoda, and then leave?

I would join in on this discussion if I had anything to work with. However, as it is, Lucas's character development for who would seem an imporant character = NOTHING.

Who is Dooku?

Calm down. Not everyone is going to like the same characters or moments from the episode as you.

I liked Dooku but he felt more like a glorified cameo than a real character.
