Storm, you ought to be happy that people DO (or DID) Hold the OT in such high regard.

Failing that, Lucas wouldn't have had any homework to put off until the last day of school.
But congratulations on seeing shit returns six times. I believe that's a record! smile.gif

I don't deny that it was sad that I saw ROTS six times, but it was such an improvement over AOTC that I couldn't resist. For the record, AOTC in my top five list of worst movies ever created.

If there is one thing that could have been done to make the PT better, I think General Grievous should have been introduced at least in the second PT movie.

I saw TPM 9 times

AotC 4

RotS, uh...6 I think.

I've lost track of how many times i've seen the first two on DVD. Right now I wouldn't mind watching TPM again.

I also like video games, comics, obsessive record shopping, and cheap plastic toys.

He'd be a less forgettable character that way. Although with respect to Christopher Lee, I don't think that role is very memorable either. The last decent new character was Lando or possibly, Qui-Gon. I take that back- at least Lando was in two movies.

The PT is to the OT what the Anti-Christ is to the Christ (albeit in a less serious manner). All the chatacters that appeared in the OT who were noble or had an air of respectability to them are reduced to playing parodies of themselves during the whole of the PT. Even things like the Liea cheese Danish hairstyle which got a snicker or two when ANH came out is reduced to a parody when Padme has them for a moment before her next costume change. Leia's metal bikini which illicited a notable reaction when seen in ROTJ gives way to the uninspired ripped gauze thing Padme wears during the arena fight in ATOC. Perhaps its all best summed up with R2-D2, more junk added and the more his abilities are extended via CGI doesn't make up for an uninspired storyline and an overall directionless trilogy.

I never really saw the need for Darth Maul. They easily could have introduced either Dooku or Grievous in the first movie. Doing so would have allowed for both villians to be better developed. Jango Fett was also a waste of time.

maul=hired muscle (like Vader becomes later)

dooku= older, charismatic, perfect for rallying a few systems together against the Republic (something that a freak like maul could never even begin to hope to accomplish for Sidious).

Then when he outlives his use, its back to the powerful hired muscle again.
