Weaknesses in 1213:
1. The bosses were perfect, but the levels were too easy. There should have been enough enemies, or they should have done enough damage, so that you had to use a little stratagy like ducking to avoid bullets or skipping unnecassery fights to reliably win.
2. Would have been nice if grabbing onto ledges was easier. Could have used a feature such as snapping the hero into the proper positon if he was reasonably close when jumping up to a ledge.

Despite such imperfections, it is a great game. Short, but I've enjoyed playing it over and over. The endings (both of them) were excellent.

Try climbing on the box.

How? Since the box doesn't lower, it just goes from right to left.

Uhh... been a while since I last played it, but there should be some box already on the ground or something like that. You just move the other one so that you can reach it from there... I think... prolly... not too sure though...

Now, anyone else interested in discussing year old posts of mine? I know you all secretly want to.

Dammit, that's not fair. I saw this topic at the top of the forum and think okay, maybe someone's asking for help or made another 1213 discussion thread. Then I start reading it and read Yahtzee saying full version of episode one going up "tonight or tomorrow" I start shitting my pants. Holy jesus tits I'm thinking, Yahtzee's been making a full 3D version of 1213 and kept it under wraps, the cheeky bastard. There's a 3D 5DAS in the making and now there's a 3D 1213 as well. And I am cheering and wishing fervently upon the universe for good fortune, cake and blowjobs to rain down upon Yahtzee - and then I read further into the thread and remember, oh right this is the ORIGINAL 1213 discussion thread when Yahtz released the game nearly two years ago. Doy. Now don't I feel stupid.

Moral of this story is I REALLY need to stay the fuck away from the liquor cabinet. Did I mention I was tanked at the time?

I've still got that order of fortune, cake and blowjobs headed your way though Yahtzee. You might want to start carrying an umbrella.
I'm not pessimistic; I've just realised that the light at the end of the tunnel is an incoming train.

Yes, thank you, we all wanted to know how much you wanted to give Yahtzee blowjobs.

Though...now that you mention it...still stuck at the beginning of ep3 of 1213.

DO A BARREL ROLL!... erm, sorry.

It's been a long time since I've played, but I assume you're talking about the part on the train? Just jump up to the top of the train when you need to avoid being seen, and duck whenever the warning flashes to tell you there's an obstacle up ahead.

As I post this, it's 12:13 AM.

So there's nothing really complicated?

Normally the robot comes at me, I jump, find myself 2 pixels too far from teh ledge, move over, try again, get zapped, make it up get to next bit, repeat several times etc.

And what am I supposed to be reaching at the end of this again?

At the end of it there's a complicated and quite frustrating boss battle. But it's a good one. You need to get on top of the train, then go across the top, ducking all the blocks that come at you. Then either drop back into the train at an opportune moment, or carry on on top, depending on which carriage you're on.

THis has probably already been asked, but any tips for defeating the boss of Ep. 2? I shoot out one eye, then the other one goes crazy and I can't get any shots in...

No, it hasn't been asked, most people had problems with the ep. 1 boss. My tactics were to keep myself hanging from a ledge until the light blue shit appears in the eyeball, at that moment, quickly pull myself up and shoot at it, because the eye aims not at the character's current position but the one he'd been in in when the blue thing appeared. When that blurry black thing at the edge of the screen appears, just gtfo the ledges and avoid getting shot by running around.

Yeah...and repeat this over and over again until you don't die until it has.

I think you cna only hurt the eye nearest to your ledge, so once you kill one, you have to go underneath it and up the other side to kill the other.

From his sickness, or the obstacle course, maybe?

He got them from an incident wherein he beat an orderly to within an inch of his life on the way to the obstacle course. This is also the explanation for the bloodstains on his chest. The event made the station administrator further convinced of 1213's unsuitability for use in the field and bolstered Westbury's frustration at the station's bureaucracy. It's revealed at the start of Episode 3 when Westbury laments 1213's unpredictable nature constantly ruining his credibility.
As I walked through the valley of the shadow of death, I realised that it could do with a lick of paint.
