By the way, does this fit into the main continuity? I've noticed with pretty much all of the other games they can fit into one main timeline. Is this a completly different 'universe', or does this take place in the same canon as YTOTW, 5-7 days et al?

This is probably a separate universe, mainly because of the ending and YTOTW's ending being somewhat at odds.

I also like the apparent inspiration you've taken from Silent Hill, including but maybe not limited to:

Very shrewd of you. Yes, I have been playing a lot of Silent Hill lately and it is my all-time favourite game series. I'd like to do a game further down the line that takes even more inspiration from SH's atmosphere and feel.

Loved the trilogy to pieces, and as you already know, I'm having a lot of fun speed running the third episode smile.gif

My current record is 8 minutes and 32 seconds (zero shots/zero kills, 9 damage taken, 5 damage restored) and I'm sure I could drop that down a bit smile.gif It seems that if you time a running jump just right, those two baddies at the very end will miss you with their attacks, which comes in pretty handy since I still can't pass the final boss without taking damage (I could blame the hitbox, but really it's because I get antsy and also because I screw up the timing of the bottom rover...)

Dangling to speed up the bottom rover to create a long enough gap to shock the large rover is too tricky for me sad.gif

Soon I'll have to do a two loop play through and see how long it takes to get both endings smile.gif

If you're having trouble with the final boss, try pressing Escape to pause the game. Look for something strange happening while the game is paused. Think about how this could be used to your advantage.

Also, I'd like - nay, love - to see a game taking place after the Secret Ending, although that'd be impossible since that'd give the ending away.

I've been thinking of doing that, but I'll hold off until someone clocks in a faster time than me before I start exploiting that bug smile.gif

Finally got myself a working keyboard, and just finished playing it. I see that the multiple key bug(refer quote) has been fixed in episodes 2 and 3, many thanks. It greatly improves the gameplay. The game is bloody brilliant.

Not sure if AGS doesn't allow it or something, but it's sort of irritating when I have to press a key other than the one I'm currently holding - I HAVE to remove my finger from the original key for the new one to do its job. Otherwise 1213 just stays there, staring at the orderly who's shooting at him. Got nearly killed thanks to that. I think I've gotten used to it now, though.

I'm hungry.

Haha, just beat the game twice. That was great. I thought the boss was pretty easy, though. Loved the endings.

Woo! Secret ending defintely a winner. Regular ending too depressing. I mean, I was expecting a hero's welcome for some reason that would become clear at the last possible minute, or at least a bloodbath as I made myself emperor, but what I got instead? Yeah, the secret ending was better, because you become ruler.

Westbury... he was sort of a surprise. From the way you see him until the point where you meet him, I was expecting him to be wearing black, even be kind of short... but he's really just a crazy guy in a lab coat. He should have survived in the special ending only to die to the ravages of... the special ending. Which I will not spoil as I would be summarily executed.

I think you have a winner here, Yahtzee. Now I am only left to wonder what your next game will be.

Yahtzee said in the recent 1213 thread on the Something Awful Forums that he's probably going to be expanding the X Days a Something series. Since he's already said on this forum that there's more to Trilby than we've seen, I'd love to see another game starring him.

Great work on the story Yahtzee, and thanks for including the second ending. After the first one I was about to just crawl into a corner and cry in a fit of depression.

I would also like to give note to Dr O'Hagan. I loved her when I first heard her dialog and I was so sad to see her go.

Also, how do you get into the little room with the passcode on it? And what's the passcode for the secret memo-machine?

Teriffic endings my man, the normal one is extremely depressing, yet fitting, while the other one made me laugh my bollocks off.

Great job!
