I have to admit, I did get a bit paranoid when the Doctor said, "I saw that, 1213!" and the music started picking up, I kept thinking I was going to be attacked out of nowhere.

The boss got kind of tough, but eventually I learned his tactics, and discovered that, the best way to beat him is to stay in a hanging position and watch and see if the little white spikes are showing when he is about to attack. If they are, then shoot him until he takes damage, then return to a hanging position. If the spikes don't show, quickly get out of the way and dodge his impail attack. The hanging position allows you to quickly move up or down in the shaft, dodging his attacks.

Sometimes he attacks many times without moving, which makes it harder, but if you are lucky, you should be able to take him down before those random attacks do you in.

I'd have thought so too, but AGS won't let you use Ctrl, Alt or Shift for the keypress functions. Dunno why.

RTFM, n00b! You want to use IsKeyPressed...

QUOTE
AGS Help->Reference->ASCII code table
Extra codes, which only work with IsKeyPressed (ie. on_key_press is never called with these codes):
403 Left shift
404 Right shift
405 Left ctrl
406 Right ctrl
407 Alt

My favorite part was, after leaving the Gym, the zombies were gone. That was scary. See, sometimes it's not that monsters are there, it's that the monsters are NOT there is what made it so scary. I didn't know what was going to happen then.

Just beat it. That was pretty good. Figuring out the code to get to the room with the bomb took me longer than it probably should have. I like how the zombies remind me of Homer Simpson, making them seem a little less threatening. I was concerned that I had encountered some weird bug when I didn't find the boss in the gymnasium. I was kinda worried when I made my way back to the elevator, thinking I would be attacked before I got there. I liked how you did the boss, making him seem hopelessly difficult at first, yet incredibly easy once you figure out his pattern.

I don't know if this is the kind of forum where you'll all hate me for doing this, but I don't care. I don't want your respect, I just want help! I'm incredibly stuck in this game (which is brilliant by the way, hence my bothering to do this in order to continue with it rather than just getting bored and giving up) If anyone feels like giving me a hand, I'm at the gymnasium door but I haven't found the code. I'm guessing it is in the room you can stand on the vent of because it's about the only place I haven't been yet. I suppose I need to get through the vent, but damned if I know how. I've jumped on it repeatedly for quite long enough, I need help. Please. (I will hulk out if that room is a red herring and I've been spending so long trying to get in)
Yeah, it's really not that great being as bad at adventure games as I am. I just love them so much despite my lack of skill/patience/problem solving ability. Thankyou for your time and effort.

It's not that difficult really. Just think a little bit about it. There are not soooo many items laying around... the crane key goes without saying... and since there aren't too many places where the other items can be applied... well, it's logic. Or just trial and error. You'll figure it out.

Edit: I was definitely being a huge idiot. I somehow was forgetting to use the action key...

Yeah, well, I'm impatient enough that I can't wait for that miserable comedian Yatz to upload a walkthrough and idiotic enough that I can't solve this puzzle. I've used every item I've found in what I think is the correct fashion, and I'm left with a solitary wrench and a cocking impenetrable vent-laden room. Abso-lutely NO idea what to do. Someone help (PM)?

Awesome game. It evoked actual honest-to-god suspense, as opposed to just scaring the shit out of you, which is rare indeed for a video game.

A highlight for me was the writing on all the monologues, especially the recounting of the efforts to keep 1108 in one piece. Special mention for the way in which the monologues which end in nonsense scrawled by the plague-ridden author show subtle degeneration which the writer has yet to recognise in earlier pages, such as missing capitals and unusual spelling errors.

Nice game. The only complaint that I have is that it takes forever to travel between the areas once you get to the sealed off area. I hope the guy moves a litttle faster in the second chapter.

it was annoying that you had to keep running back and forth with those doors that you can only open one at a time Just to find out that only one door actually contains something anyway. Perhaps a bit more of a puzzle would have been better like opening the doors in the right combination or playing a minigame where have to face Jeramy Beadle in a volleyball tournament.
