Whoa, the demo's here.

Anyway, this game looks pretty awesome. I'm pretty psyched.

I'm quite a fan of Flashback. Good work, I like it already, it really is quite an achievement to make something like that in AGS I think. Mind you, I really should dig out my shooting code and release that as a demo.

Hmm looks good so far. I remember flashback that was a damn fun game, Tell us yhatzee, do you intend to make this a completely serious game or will there be humerous elements? I think it would be cool if the character had a few more moves, like in flashback the guy could roll and do running jumps and holster and unholster his weapon. It's just a suggestion really as Ive never made an AGS game and i dont know how difficult it would be to give him extra abilities.

Looking forward to seeing more though.

Its a great demo, I think that the option to skip the training level in the actual game would be good.

I love the way the atmosphere is in this game. The beating-heart/life-meter is just perfect, and the creepy shadowy way how both the protaganist and the antagonist are both hidden. I'd love to see how this thriller will go.

Nice, really. I like the atmosphere, but if possible, a few more cool moves like Walexei mentioned would be nice. And maybe the ability to dash. I know some parts like the 'avoid the security camera'-scene require you to be slow and that it generally adds to the atmosphere, but still it could be possible. As for that camera-scene, there could be additional systems that close the door when a loud noise occurs, meaning walking and crouching is fine, but not dashing. Could be that it doesn't fit into Yahtzee's plans for the rest of the game, so it's just an idea.

I think what he's already done is harder than implimenting holster and unhloster (etc), but alas, this all my assumption since I've never tried to do any of these things in AGS. So if they al turn out to be very difficult then BLAH.

Damn, thats a fine new game, Yahtzee.
I just wonder how much of a jump&run it is going to be and how big the "traditional" adventure part is, if there is going to be one in it at all.

Oh-oh-oh - noticed one more thing. That gun's got unlimited ammo, right? Maybe a limit could add some strategic elements... hmm... but then again, you'd probably get stuck if you run out of ammunition... maybe the ability to clench a fist, lifting it and pushing it towards the enemy's face could help there, which of course costs a little bit more health and... ah, forget about it.

This looks really cool and i can't wait to play it.

Some thoughts on the game's surface:

The thing I wish for the most is more attention to the sound and music. A game like this could use a groovy soundtrack to go with the retro cool graphics. I would really love do contribute with some music myself, though I have a feeling that youŽd rather do everything by yourself. Am I right?
(anyway, I'm going for a 3 month vacation in India now and can't help you even if you wanted)
But get some guy to compose kickass music for the game! Think about how cool Flashback's music was. If you're going to release the game in episodes, perhaps the downloads won't be too big even if you used something sexier than midi-files for the music?

Also, even though I find the graphics to be really good looking, in a minimalistic way, I personally would like a more colorful palette. All the grays, browns and black tend to get a bit boring after a while. More color combinations! Dark tones of purple, green or whatever.

Cheers

This demo is great. I can't wait for the real thing. It has a Prince of Persia type of feel to it which enhances the gameply IMO. I am thinking now how Yahtzee could have created this game in AGS considering the elements of gameplay involved.
Anyway, well done Yahtzee.
