As mentioned in my other post, I just finished watching my Laserdisc ESB DVD (I'm not rubbing it in--seriously), and I had to laugh when Obi-Wan tells Luke, [paraphrasing] "We don't want to lose you to the Emperor as I once lost Vader."

What? They don't want Luke to fall in love with somebody and then turn because he think he might save her with some dark side ability? What? Kill a bunch of sandpeople because they hurt somebody he loved?

With the PT in context with that line, it just doesn't work. Their fears for losing Luke are not the same as the ones for Anakin.

Just doesn't work for me. I'll go back to ignoring the PT's and will be well.

Battle for the Galaxy--read the "other Star Wars"

All I know is I haven't seen the real prequels yet.

hmm, that made me chuckle on the inside. And shed a tear on the outside.
Apparently writing about JM here is his secret weakness. Muwahaha!!!! Now I have leverage over him and am another step closer towards my goal of world domination.

"And the Evil that was vanquished shall rise anew. Wrapped in the guise of man shall he walk amongst the innocent and Terror shall consume they that dwell upon the Earth. The skies will rain fire. The seas shall become as blood. The righteous shall fall before the wicked! And all creation shall tremble before the burning standards of Hell!" - Mephisto

Kurgan X showed me this web comic done with Legos. It pokes fun at all six Star Wars films and I found it to be extremely entertaining.

Hey, how does the laserdisc look compared to DVD? I've never watched a laserdisc. I know it's better than VHS, but is it THAT much better?

I caught your other thread on this, and I'll rate it for you. DVD being ten, I would put my LDVD at about 7.5. VHS would be around 4 or so. The sound is GREAT, though! So much better than my VHS! I nearly cried with joy when I played it.

My only thing is that I do have a big screen television, and when I do the "zoom" it's too easy to see the pixels even at x2. So, I don't do that too often.

Hope that helped.

Did your Laserdisc have any extras worth commentating about or a different audio commentary? Just curious.
