its a 'technique' whereby you constantly use the powerslide boost across the whole cousre (rather than just corners as it was intended). Its totally cuts all the skill and technique out of the game. if 4 'snakers' are racing then whatever, but I can't be bothered to put up with it if i want to actually RACE and all they want to do is use the jump button and press left and right repeatedly.

It's a very exciting game, but if you want to have the best multiplayer, it means that the two people playing can use the character they want and don't that one play with a shy guy, is having the two the game.

You need a high speed internet connection.

You need access to a wireless network.

If you dont have that, you can get an adaptor from Nintendo (from their site, or Amazon)

You download the crap off the CD, stick the thing in your USB port, and off you go.

MK wi-fi connection does seem a bit sporadic though to be honest.

You can powerslide the whole track? How did Nintendo overlook such a blatantly abusive game mechanic?
This space for rent. Inquire within.

I don't know. It couldn't have been missed in playtesting, so it must be intentional. What we're left with is an online game where a 'snaker' can practice for an hour and beat someone whos practiced a course for weeks using the dated techniques (like CORNERING!).

it doesnt work on every track of course, they come unstuck on the ones that really wind, but all you're left with then is everyone trying to chose a track they can snake on (works on about %70 of them).

I did a little research and heard one guy say that the developer ghosts use snaking to get high times. If that's true, they included it on purpose.

Heres Nintendos official stance.

Man, this guy is an IDIOT.

I love the way youre called a "master" of this "advanced skill" even though it only takes (at the most) a couple of hours to learn.

CORNERING= OUT
KART HANDLING= OUT
ITEMS (blue shell apart, maybe) =OUT
WINNING A RACE BY USING UNLIMITED SPEED BOOSTS= IN!!!

message from Nintendo to da kidz- "feel snaking degrades the game by dampening or removing what made mario kart fun in the first place? sorry johnny, you're fvked!!"
