Great flick. The cinematography is very unique, and who doesn't love a good Willem Dafoe movie?

Why did they make Dafoes character gay? It made no sense to me. That scene with the asian man kinda creeped me out. :yuck:

Didn't bother me.

It gave Willem's character rememberance.

I just saw it as another way of adding a ton of dark humour to the story. I wasn't bothered by it in any way. Probably because it was just a bloody movie.

The only arguable reason they had for making him gay was to poke fun at him. He gay - but he call gay man "fag!" He self-loathing! Stupid gay man!

Not for that alone, BOONDOCK SAINTS is a silly movie. Lots of action, but it's action of the two-guys-versus-a-hundred-guys variety that stopped being fun the moment John Woo started making films in America.
"I had a lot of different ideas. At one point, Luke, Leia and Ben were all going to be little people, and we did screen tests to see if we could do that." -George Lucas, in STAR WARS: the Annotated Screenplays (p197).
