He really is a ball of energy, this new dog. Reminds me of a young Louispup, bursting at the seams. He certainly likes to gnaw on things and I just caught myself catching him and shouting "Louis!"

I'll post some pics soon. I do trust Louis will return; This way he'll have a friend. smile.gif

Since you are expecting Louis to return, I wouldn't suggest naming the new pup "Louis Louis" or anything with the name "Louis" in it, as this will be confusing to the dogs.

Unless you want to be confusing, but in that case, I offer up the name "Stay."

What kind of pup?
I am writing about Jm in my signature because apparently it's an effective method of ignoring him.

He's a pure beagle, a 12", and a good boy for the most part. so far. Not as cute as Louis though. His breeder called him "Jack" and his college student master for 3 weeks called him "Loki". the lady who hooked us up referred to him as "Stuckey", which was actually his master's last name and my mistaken understanding of the pup's name.

Maybe tonight I can get some pics up.

I have a rambunctious lab/Rotweiler cross breed named Rebel, who pesters the older dogs, black labs brother & sister Albion and Erian, constantly.

Since your new dog's a ball of energy, how about naming him Flash or Static? Whatever you do, DON'T name him Jar Jar, you'll be egged to the end of your days.

I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an obi-wan to go.

My vote goes to Luke (although Loki is a cool name too).

Floppy; Sebastian was the name of Louis' old companion when he lived next door with bad neighbor.
Sebastian also went to another home so I wouldn't speak his name around my Lou as to spare his feelings, you know, missing his bud.

I like Watson too. You know, with a little pipe and Sherlock Holmes hat he'd make a nice Watson. Luke is good, with the LU syllable I'm used to. But it is a solid name and this pup is pretty rambunctious.

thanks for the suggestions! I'll keep you apprised.

Another vote for Loki. Although I'm not sure Jane's vote was for Loki. In that case, just a vote for Loki. But just about any name sounds good if the animal it's attatched to is cute. And there is no such thing as an un- cute puppy.

Good luck finding Louis! I'd say naming the puppy Louis Louis would be a bad idea- they would both answer to the same name, pretty much, and when you'd call them, you'd have to say "Louis Louis Louis!" And then "Louis" wouldn't sound like a word anymore.

I used to have this idea to get a bloodhound and a beagle (both dogs that like to sniff around) and because the beagles is the smaller, call him watson and the big one Sherlock.

I went with Louis Louis, but if Louis does come back, you could always change his name to Clint Eastwood. And he could very well come back, I had a dog who was missing for nearly a year, and then one day, randomly, she came back to the neighborhood.
