I stopped playing after so many people were able to mod weapons and items and armour and stuff. Its really cool at first, but after a bit it gets old really fast. Maybe I'll pick up playing it again sometime.
Apparently writing about JM here is his secret weakness. Muwahaha!!!! Now I have leverage over him and am another step closer towards my goal of world domination.

"And the Evil that was vanquished shall rise anew. Wrapped in the guise of man shall he walk amongst the innocent and Terror shall consume they that dwell upon the Earth. The skies will rain fire. The seas shall become as blood. The righteous shall fall before the wicked! And all creation shall tremble before the burning standards of Hell!" - Mephisto

Kurgan X showed me this web comic done with Legos. It pokes fun at all six Star Wars films and I found it to be extremely entertaining.

they update it everynow and then...

i get board with it quickly, but i'm really getting into it now...

the skill synergies are pretty good if you specialize, and all the patches have seen more +to all skills items which boost the crap out of you.
plus i'm better educated on the items as a whole now...

i'll get sick of it again, but got the bug again...

I stopped when I forgot to refresh my characters and I lost a level 50 meleemancer (not that much of a loss, but he was my first b.net character), and a 68 polearm barbarian. (He was getting to be a really good build and had some great stuff. He had so much life and mana steal he could whirlwind through a group of enemies and get full health and mana from it, and used concentrate with no mana loss and a big hp regen.)

*tear* Good times. So much time spent with my friends in that game...

How can you get characters that high? I play through normal, then put it away. I mean, once I've beaten the game, I don't want to do the same thing over again. Playing the game to get better items so you can play teh game to get better items doesn't appeal to me.

But that's boring. I play Diablo 2 as I play any RPG. I go to an area, kill everything there, then go on to the next, never looking back. If I'm then not strong enough to beat a section, I consider that the fault of the designer for working a proper difficulty curve(or just a poor character build on my part). Wandering around the same area over and over just to rack up xp is about the worst thing an RPG can do. Unless of course you like to play the role of somebody with nothing better to do.

Sorry, Diablo 2 just stands for a lot of things I hate about RPGs. See my rant somewhere in the Fallout 2 thread for the details.

nobody bashes D2 more than me when describing Fallout.

i don't even consider Daiblo an RPG.

i NEVER play it offline... it's fun when you have a group though, if everyone's different.

especially if they all focus their skills. plus some of the sets are great.
My necromancer has a set that makes him a vampire

i look like this:

and have fire spells, and move around so bloddy fast!

Trang-Oul's set! The only better Necro-only thing is the Homunculus unique demon head.
