I'm traveling to Upstate NY in the near future, if all goes well. Are the people there more like the stereotypical Yankee (blunt, rude, blatantly self-centered), or the stereotypical Southerner (tactful, polite, but nosy and will just randomly start conversation with you when you've never seen them before, and hides their self-centeredness and often, their contempt for you that they disguised behind their tact and politeness)?
I am writing about Jm in my signature because apparently it's an effective method of ignoring him.

Where abouts in New York will you be? Stereotypically, between those two choices, I'd say Southerner actually. I wish you had more choices. During the Holiday season, and in and around other major holidays though the only people to really avoid are other shoppers. Besides that everyone else is usually very great.
Apparently writing about JM here is his secret weakness. Muwahaha!!!! Now I have leverage over him and am another step closer towards my goal of world domination.

"And the Evil that was vanquished shall rise anew. Wrapped in the guise of man shall he walk amongst the innocent and Terror shall consume they that dwell upon the Earth. The skies will rain fire. The seas shall become as blood. The righteous shall fall before the wicked! And all creation shall tremble before the burning standards of Hell!" - Mephisto

Kurgan X showed me this web comic done with Legos. It pokes fun at all six Star Wars films and I found it to be extremely entertaining.

Somewhere about 70 miles west of Syracuse. And I only asked that stereotypical question because I've been told that like Florida is a Yankee state, NY (with the exception of NYC) is a southern state. Guess I wanted some other people's responses.

And Shoppers are people to be avoided at all costs, anywhere.

New York isn't a southern state at all. There's a lot of ruralness, but there's no "gentility" like the South apparently has. Friendly people are friendly to you, and jerks are jerks to you, with little guesswork involved.
