It'll be a 6 film cycle for me. The meats in the middle, bookended by two dodgy episodes.

i don't a single film has ever been made that didn't have at least 1 good review. and i don't think one film was ever made that EVERYONE hated.
by word of mouth or regular publication, popular opinion is rarely an adequate form of merit appraisal.
People like it. people like coke too, and that shit rots your teeth and is Hydrachloric acid to your insides...

I think the OT by itself is the greatest story ever told. I think seeing the PT BEFORE the OT totally destroys the magic of the OT. Seeing the PT AFTER the OT, or not at all, is better.
I think the PT and OT will move on in opposite directions. I think the OT will remembered onward as classics, and will continue to bring joy and happiness to many. I think the PT will be forgotten just like New Coke.

Thanks for those insights! You really opened my eyes to the untapped wonders of the pre-pubescent Counter Strike mentality. You like to rationalise things by pretending that PT fans are in the minority, some weird fringe group of "dicksuckers" ( ). If that makes you feel better, fine. You'll find that reality might present a different view though.
Thanks again!

I think the problem that most people have with the PT is that they (like myself) expected far more from the trilogy of films. At one time I had thought Lucas to be one of the greatest directors of all time. Anything that had an actor from Star Wars in it, I wanted to see even if I knew it wasn't going to be good. There was so many years that could have been spent perfecting what elements that could have been worked on long before filming began. And finally, the OT stands as three of the greatest films of all time, and quite probably the greatest trilogy of all time. I don't care what anyone else thinks, but the PT should have outshone the OT by far, or at the very least equalled it in greatness. I don't need to care about all of the continuity details or any others, and I can still honestly say that the OT was far better (though, if you flat out ignore all of the discontinuities, the PT stands a bit closer to the OT).
Finally, I would hope that you would be reasonable polite to jariten or any other "gusher" that is willing to quite reasonably discuss these films. Would you rather have someone acting like a complete waste of a human being/pile of filth to deal with? I think not. I hope I don't come of as being to harsh.

Kurgan X showed me this web comic done with Legos. It pokes fun at all six Star Wars films and I found it to be extremely entertaining.

and jariten, the majority of the world ARE dicksuckers.... both literally, and generally as a term of abuse.
the leafblower, tyranical rule, ill-distribution of global and localized wealth, constant war, etc are not the products of an international society in which only two people okayed the things that led to the popularity of the passtimes above.
