Ive been venting on this a lot and have come to the conclusion that there should have been the assaij ventress vs. anakin skywalker fight put in AotC. I remember reading about this fight in a star wars magazine. anakin was impressed by ventresses flying skills, so he followed her to the sith temples on yavin with several clone troopers. it is storming and pitch dark. she quickly takes out the clones which leaves a duel between the two padawans. only the red and blue glow of their lightsabers can illuminate the surroundings. In the process, she of course gives anakin that scar on his head. after a most spectacular battle she cuts off his arm, and ignoring the pain he continues the fight and pushes her into a deep chasm amongst the dead ruins.this would be an excellent fight to be put in episode 2 and it could happen sometime before the battle with dooku. maybe he could still cut off one of anakin's arms. but i was watching episode 2 tonight and it pissed me off that such a perfect battle was left out of the movies. damn.

edit: there has never been a lightsaber duel outside.(except for mustafar) this one could take place in a jungle part of the way.

In the books though, Assajj survives her fall into the chasm and comes back to help Dooku set up an ambush for Anakin and Obi-Wan which they fight through and eventially defeat Assajj. Clone Wars Volume 2 would have been a hell of a lot better with that stuff in it than all that other crap I pretty much wasted $20 on to see on DVD

It would have been awesome to see Anakin just get his arm cut off at some time in every one of the prequel movies, even in TPM as a kid! That would be the absolute most hilarious thing ever, just knowing that Anakin would loose an arm in every movie and it is to be expected like a trademark.

I could just see it now, "Anakin, GET DOWN!!!" Darth Maul swoops in on his hover bike, whips out his saber, and cuts young Anakin's arm off. Then Obi-Wan has to jump out of the NUBIAN ship as Qui-Gonn is dealing with Maul. Jake Lloyd is putting on a great performance rolling around in the sand, crying like a small woman

That'd be great. Hell, I'd probably watch TPM a few more times if they added that in.

That is the most morbid thing i have read in a long time.
sure i hated Jake Lloyds preformance (if you can call it that) in TPM, but losing his arm would have probably corrupted him.
now forget all that stuff i just wrote....
and imagine him trying to fight Darth Maul with Obi-wan (like he should've done against Dooku in AOTC) and Obi chopping off his arm by 'accident'.
Wouldn't that be freakin' fantastic! we should send that idea to Georgie boy so he could use that in the revised editions of the prequel trilogy in 2034.

I agree with the original poster. That could have worked very well in the episode as it did in the animated series.
