Enjoy this short retrospective of Halloween related activities I've been involved in over the past week.

The one pumpkin that would rule them all. Selected on a cold rainy day at a pumpkin farm in northern New Jersey. Did you know that we are currently going through a worldwide pumpkin shortage? That's a Chefelf Fun Fact!

Jen hiding behind our freshly carved pumpkin.

The Jack-O-Lantern that will chill you to your very soul.

It's hard to believe by looking at it but this authentic Darth Vader costume was purchased at a local Duane Reade drug store.

Have you ever wondered what Darth Vader would have looked like if he'd lived in the eighteenth century? Wonder no more! Thanks to this beautiful powdered wig that Paul gave me I have been able to create what I feel is a pretty accurate representation of what this scenario would have looked like.

Just for reference purposes, this is what my Darth Vader costume looked like in 1981. Boy, we've come a long way. Can you believe that this primitive costume is what passed for a Darth Vader outfit in 1981?

Happy Halloween everybody!

It's amazing, but the look of your eyes peeking through your non-proportional Darth Vader mask looks just as creepy now as it did in 1981!!!!!!

Yeah, it really does. It's interesting to see how my eyes have moved from the center to the edges. If only me in 2005 and me in 1981 could trade masks I think that it would work out a lot better.

The 18th century Vader is so cool. Instead of a lightsaber, he would use one of those pointy 18th century swords.
Sorry, you won't be seeing a smartass sig here. Try with the next poster.

the soul-chilling jack o'lantern reminded me of the "vader-vision" we were tricked, or treated to, in rots.

Thanks for the slideshow, Chef. smile.gif

Background factoid, the cape was also used when Chefelf dressed as a little old man and when he cast his magic spells as a magician.

If I wasn't so computer illiterate I would even have inserted the two additional photos to prove it.

One little cape, so many uses.

Bactoid proofs!

Christmas of '82. That's a pretty sweet costume. Check out the Pac Man Velcro 'dart' board in the back and all those sweet, sweet Intellivision games!

Halloween '83 (I think). Guess which one is me (hint: I'm the baby).

I don't remember who any of those people are. Perhaps my dad could shed some light on that.

I don't recognize one kid in that picture, nor does the fireplace they are standing in front of look familiar. The way you are set apart from the rest of the group makes me think perhaps you crashed some kids halloween party to show off your nifty cape.
