I don't know if this was discussed before, and apologies if it was raised in the forum and discussed at length, but reading the "interview" of GL by his "pal" Supershadow, an interesting point was raised as to the possibility of mace Windu surviving. Sure, he lost his hand, got a more than healthy dose of Sith lightening, and was hurled a great distance to the depths of Coruscant, but could he have survived somehow, maybe in a crippled form with diminished power over the Force to avoid detection because he's more focused on surviving? Maybe GL might have something in store yet that's surprising for the SW TV series......

Personally, I think he is dead. Even if he survived the fall, he would have been in critical condition and shot a thousand times by the clone troopers.

But he had B-M-F carved into the hilt of his lightsaber!

Personally, I think he's dead too, moreso because whatever appeared on that site is so bogus that the complete opposite is more likely to happen. Still, it would be cool to see Mace try to make a Grievous-like entity of himself to fight on.....

The only missing thing is that I believe Boba Fett had more of a right to kill Mace than Palpatine. Unfortunately, 1 on 1, it's not possible for a Jedi to be killed by anyone aside from another Force/Saber user. Boba wouldn't stand a chance.

I don't know. If fans can believe that Boba Fett survived the sarlaac and many more believe that Maul could've survived a half-a-body-itis, I don't know why Windu couldn't have...

If skinny white boy, Anakin can grab a speeder zipping by, BMF can do it with one hand tied behind his.... yeah...

According to Lucas he's dead. Sure he could have survived. We've seen Jedi survive long falls AND lightning attacks before. Mace Windu is supposed to be one of the most powerful Jedi in the Order at the time, as well. I'm sure it's possible, in universe for him to have survived the fall.

And people who clearly died, AND Lucas assures us died, have still come back in the EU (ie: Boba Fett, the Emperor). So if Lucas wants to bring him back, he can do so. It's really up to Lucas, not science, logic, SuperShadow or any other fanboy.

He may have died later of course. For all we know, he miraculously stayed conscious and avoided traffic enough to survive (certainly not the BS explanation of Shadow's that he landed on some soft garbage bags that somehow broke his incredible fall!), and was later shot dead by patrolling clones outside while in his weakened state. Who knows! He'd be an old man by the time of the classic trilogy, but not that much older than Obi-Wan (so in his 70's probably, depending on the age his character is supposed to be in ROTS). SS's ridiculous idea of him appearing in a post-ROTJ series of episodes (not as a ghost!) would make him a very old man indeed.

But of course whatever SS says should simply be ignored (even if he claims Lucas said it, on his website), unless backed up by a more reputable source (like StarWars.com).

Yeah, SS is a complete moron. His "interviews" with George continually put me in stitches.

Anyway, I'm sure Mace will be back. As soon as the first hack EU writer gets stuck for an idea, he'll be back.

With Darth Mauls hand grafted on, forcing him to do evil things against his will...

hmm...this thing writes itself!

And I take it he had no moral qualms about makin' a Lando. Colt 45 cans falling off his love nest terrace on Cloud City hitting the surface of Bespin far below.....

You guys forget about comic-book deaths. If Professor X could come back to life, and Bucky could come back to life, and Jason Todd could come back (after being beaten with a crowbar from the Joker), and Superman can come back after a fight with Doomsday, then Mace Windu can CERTAINLY come back... he only got a little force lightning and a fall from an 80-story building.

Yoda had the wisdom to flee. Mace would have done the same.

On an all city planet like Coruscant where no one has fallen to their death from what we see onscreen it doesn't seem like that much of a stretch. If Vader manages to be up and about after the duel and lava bath, maybe Mace may have squeeked by with no probkems. Maybe he was hurled toward the direction of the diner from ATOC and got help from them.
