Abortion wouldnt be such a problem if catholics and such would encourage the use of safe sex. Failing that though, I say its a womans moral decision, noone else's.

Condoms suck ass though. They are really uncomfortable. Untill they make a comfortable condom, people will not use them.

JM- They way the church sees it, married couples shouldn't worry about getting babies, and that condoms are almost entirely used outside of marriage. That's why they don't like to endorse them, I think.

That is a illogical argument neway... anyone who doesn't use contraceptives in america as a result of being Catholic is so religious that they probably wouldn't be having premarital sex ANYWAY. Most abortions are a result of non catholics, non religious people simply participating in unprotected (stupid) sex. This is the case especially in America, as opposed to say Africa or what not where woman simply don't have the education and thus aren't to blame for pregnancy at all.

I don't know about that, the catholic church, especially in Africa, has spread multitudes of falsehoods about condoms, despite the effect it had on the continents aids pandemic.

As for the assumption that married couples would want to have kids that actually pops up both in Catholicism and Islam and I positively can't stand it. It's really a Machiavellian idea that when a couple of a certain religion has kids, those kids will probably carry on that religion. That's one of the reasons the planet is so badly overpopulated.

If I have a look around me, I think a lot of women should have had an abortion.

But before they're born you can't tell who you won't like.

Maybe the government should give every other baby born a vasectomy. They'd still go through puberty and be able to have sex, just without babies.

Oh yeah, here's an interesting place I found that I'm proudly a part of:

Because, uh... Women in Africa don't understand that sex leads to children? I really hope you're being facetious...

I admit they are a hassle, but there's no shortage of condom sales. The choice between slightly annoying sex and not-so-annoying sex + baby makes it fairly easy.

As for my abortion stand: I am pro-choice. I feel it is morally ok for an abortion during the first trimester as a general guideline, because I don't think that there's enough of a fetus for it to really be considered human yet. It's still in the "going to be human eventually" stage. Personally, I would prefer safe sex or adoption if the baby would be born into a household that could not offer the financial and emotional support required for a healthy and educated child to develop properly, as it's just irresponsible to bring a child into the world and not be able to support it.

If my significant other got pregnant and decided to have an abortion, I would accept her decision and understand, but I would be sad because there would be the potential for a child that was lost. There's still enough beauty in this world that it is a worthwhile experience, even if said beauty is fading fast when it isn't being actively destroyed in favor of McDonalds' parking lots.

Banned: A person would only feel incomplete without a child if a child was required to make the person feel complete. You make your own values and decide what makes you happy as an individual and work toward it. Everyone can lead a meaningful life. As I am not very fond of children and am in no situation to support a child at this point in my life, I would not feel like my life was wasted if I did not raise a child because it is not a value I hold highly. But if anything, society is blinding you by letting you think that your values are somehow not meaningful when you should see them as they are. Bleh. Renegade: People will do what it is their best interest to do. If their religion backs it up then they are happy. If their religion decries it then they will do it anyway and feel guilty. Case in point, premarital sex, condom use, and Catholics. The church says "no premarital sex!" So folks do it and feel guilty. The chuirch says "no condoms!" and guys, not wanting to wear them anyway, pretend they can pull out in time, or that women really know how to time their fertility cycles, or that they would have the self-control to skip sex at the inappropriate times, or whatever. This is especially true in AIDS-heavy Africa, where folks probably can't afford condoms and where the Church ain't giving them out as it works so hard to help no one much at all.

Abortion: I think men ought to be allowed to have them.

THe argument is made that since its the womans body, its her property. But once you have unprotected sex, you are making a decision and taking a risk that will give up half of your body. if it was your body it wouldnt need its own food. If someone doesnt want a baby, and they are pregnant, its that's baby's right as a human to be born and have a chance at a life. Adoption is the best policy for that situation. Abortion is just the easy way out.

Ok, if we're working out the abortion issue still... let's see.
Killing babies is only bad by a sociological stand point. Also, what would have happened if your mom decided she wanted an abortion while you were in her? How would you feel to be an aborted baby? But the real question is, if the parents aren't ready for a baby. Would you rather the baby die, or live about 10 years in a horrible house that can't even afford to feed it and will later die of a disease? Even with foster homes, aborting babies is saving us from destroying our planet by making human kind less abundant. foster homes can only take care of so many children...

Kill a baby, take a life.
kill a baby, save a life.
