I agree - superman is a waste of animation - and paper.

And I mean the original one; I don't know if there is a remake or something where those two characters (WillyKit and WillyKat) have not appeared yet, but in the original one they were part of the team from the beggining of the series.
EDIT: And they always used those boards. And Superman has already died.

Blasphemy!
I say death to Wolverine. He's extremely over-rated and because of him the X-Men movies are basically Wolverine movies instead of being ensemble pieces about the X-Men as a whole.
Yeah, I said it. Now come and get me.
I'd like a qui-gon jinn please with an obi-wan to go.

HE'S EVERYWHERE!
That's why I say kill him.
And I know just the herald to do the job.

Havok was pretty cool - I used to really like storm.. until hally massacred her in the movies - I just cant look at her the same way… I felt pretty alright about the casting… except for her… weren’t there any strong black females out there who could have played that roll - wasn’t storm supposed to be from some African tribe or something… and what was with that ridiculous accent in the first movie?

I blame it on a badly thought out box office attempt to compete with the matrix sequels.

The second movie on the other hand decided that audiences are confused by dialogue, prefer 2 dimensional characters, and overblow special effects. Merrily tossing one of the best things about the comic book, and the first movie asside: an underlying message.
Spiderman 2 went the same way.
In defence of Gambits non-appearance. Having another central character would have cluttered things a bit, particularly when you consider the Rogue relationship, and the way his personality bounces off the other members. He'd have either had to be the focus (wolverine), or the sarcy comic relief (wolverine again).
Plus they'd have needed more bad guys to even things out.
