The problem with AOTC is that the JEDI nature, the recent nature that lucas created, is a bit stupid when you inspect it closely.

They can read minds, sense danger, move objects through space, see the future, and come back as ghosts.

They are almost like Gods. So when one of them screws up, we find it hard to believe. When the entire council screws up, we think it's just ridiculous. How can people who possess these powers all of a sudden start to suck?

The jedi being clouded by the dark side is a lame way to not bother explain how a large number of semi-perfect beings could not sense Palpatine.

The ability to come back as a ghost should be removed. Reading minds should be nerfed a bit and same with sensing events.

I have a confession to make...
I BOUGHT AOTC... today...
it was after-Christmas sale and I could not resist.

I bought it only because I consider it the best of PT. With all of its shortcomings, stupid "Jedi cannot love" which was supposed to create more of the romantic tension between the leading duo, and all that, I still find it most entertaining and least cringe-inducing. Here are some reasons:
- Natalie Portman wars nicer costumes in ROTS (although it is not that difficult to achieve)
- There are no Midichlorians mentioned
- Jedi are not THAT stupid as in ROTS
- plot in NOT THAT stupid as in ROTS
- there are no coughing and wheezing lame villains
- there are no Tarzan yells
- there are no Indiana Jones rip-offs
- Obi-wan does not ride that lizard
- Yoda does not ride a Wookie
- there is actually a female character that does something useful in the film

That is enought for me to like the film better than ROTS.
