I wasn't allowed to go Trick or Treating or dress up or anything for a long time because we went to a brainwashing church that said Halloween was devil-worship. then we moved and switched churches and the brainwashing stuck until the 8th grade - first time I ever dressed up, only time I ever trick-or-treated... ::sigh::
when I say the brainwashing stuck, I don't mean I agreed with it being devil-worship; just it was so ingrained in us that celebrating Halloween shouldn't happen... that it didn't... or something.

I put up the Halloween decorations today, including a lovely bunch of crepe paper that I expected to stretch farther. And a bat, and a hat with "Ravenclaw" written on it. Eh, it's worth a shot. But before my teacher left for Yom Kippur he apparantly hid the hamster.... If you have one, could you tell me how big a hood would have to be to fit one? In diameter, if it were roundish? Thank you.

I had to stop trick-or-treating when I was thirteen. After that I got into my routine of trying to scare little kids by pretending to be a decoration on our front porch.
Now I can't do either...

Yar. Are you still in school? My advice is to find a club with some random esoteric subject. Sometimes there are nice people to be found there. But just talk to people if they look friendly. The secret, as someone was quoted as saying at somepoint in my recent past, is not minding the pain. If people are being difficult, and they aren't prepared to back it up with gunfire, perform psychological experiments on them. It's fun!
Note: Well, fun is subjective. I suggested to Otal that he pretend he was gay for a while to see what happened. He experienced a sharp dip in the number of people willing to talk to him, but I thought it was fun.
