Actually, I rather like the X-Box. It's different, and is easier to hold than one would expect. My problem is with the gamecube. I don't know why, but pushing the buttons on it really doesn't feel right. They're to soft.

The "S-Controller" is still almost a whale, and the button setup is terrible too.

To each his/her own I suppose. I am rather fond of it because it is not overly large, but it is big enough to get a firm grip on it.
Apparently writing about JM here is his secret weakness. Muwahaha!!!! Now I have leverage over him and am another step closer towards my goal of world domination.

"And the Evil that was vanquished shall rise anew. Wrapped in the guise of man shall he walk amongst the innocent and Terror shall consume they that dwell upon the Earth. The skies will rain fire. The seas shall become as blood. The righteous shall fall before the wicked! And all creation shall tremble before the burning standards of Hell!" - Mephisto

Kurgan X showed me this web comic done with Legos. It pokes fun at all six Star Wars films and I found it to be extremely entertaining.

Same here. The only other one that comes close, in my opinion, is the original, unadulterated Street Fighter Two. No stupid Super Turbo Alpha Cum Laude de Cigarette Street Fighter games... ><

Slade, Slade, Slade. I thought you were a gamer. How quickly you forget about SSBM.

I think we were talking about older games. SSBM is the best fighter I've ever played.

Sould Calibut II is hardly an older game... Just came out a few years ago, right? So did SSBM.

No no, I should have said old favorites.

Well I like SSBM, but the story of each character in Soul Calibur II is very interesting

Super Smash Bros. is an arcadey beat-em-up, not a fighter. I don't see them in quite the same genre.

It's hardly a beat-em-up. The ninja turtles games for SNES were beat-em-up. SSBM is defenitely a fighter, just a very unconvential one.

Let's say it's a cross between them both.

I take it from the example above that by beat-em-up you refer to games like Double Dragon and Golden Axe? I've always called that genre Arcade Games. Which is rather ironic, as save for the odd Contra machine, arcades don't have an arcade game in sight anymore.
The Green Knight, SimeSublime the Puffinesque, liker of chips and hunter of gnomes.
JM's official press secretary, scientific advisor, diplomat and apparent antagonist?

Of new games:

I think the best example for a beat 'em up is Viewtiful Joe. I think is the best beat em' up game.
TMNT is an example, but the only thing I like of the game were the graphics.
Spawn Armageddon was a totally waste of time of my life.

I don't know how anyone could pass Viewtiful Joe in three hours on the first playthrough, unless you did it on easy, maybe... I got 10 "game over"s on the first level on normal before I got the hang of it, and some parts took me forever to beat... ><
