Jeepers, has this thread digressed while I've been gone...

Since when did "pwned" add a zero?

And who in their right mind would prefer ancient Greece to ancient Egypt? *shakes head*

Wow, in just a few sentences you provided a more concise reason why Cuba sucks than Renegade did in however many paragraphs he posted. Good show old bean, I yeild the day to you!

Cubans do get free healthcare, even prisoners. Cuba has one of the lowest HIV rates of any country in the world, and they also have a lower infant  mortality rate than many part s  of the US. Thus why I'm puzzled as to what makes their healthcare "suck"

I already posted previously there rank in healtchare in a previous post... its a few spots below America and is well into the 30's by rank. So yes by comparison to some shitty country in South America it may be great, but in comparison to the world its shit. But more importantly, its not really primary care that sucks there, cause there is a lot of doctors and the such, but medical technology sucks there and i'd take a guess that doing major procedures takes ages to get done but that's more a guess.

So because Cuba's healthcare system is ranked a few spots below America's it "sucks"? I suppose the spot where America's system is ranked dosn't suck though, right?

And no, in comparison to the world Cuba's healthcare system is not shit. Stop being ignorant.

There are hundreds of countries in the world. Cuba being ranked around thirty does not make it shit. Cuba leads South America in health care, they are on par with the developed world, that is an incredible leap. Go see what Cuba's health system was like under your capitalist traitor Battista and learn that His Excellency has actually done something grand for the people of his country.

It's fine for you to sit in the US and criticize people who are really out there trying to do something because their efforts dont match up to your ignorant imperialist view of the world, but if you paid attention to anything besides network news and the bullshit they preach in schools you'd know that most of the world has no healthcare whatsoever except through relief organizations. You'd know that most of the world governments can't be arsed to provide health care for their people.

And you wouldn't be stupid enough to go about criticizing a brave man who's actually trying to help his people simply because his efforts are a few spaces behind those of the most powerful country on earth.

Hey, I've got a question for you. Why is it that a poor nation like Cuba is so near to the US in health care? Our gross national product has to be, what, a hundred times that of Cuba? And yet people still go hungry here. People still die for lack of medical care, people still have to choose between paying hospital bills and eating.

Your ignorant propaganda soaked mind takes things out of context without ever considering the larger picture. A country weaker, smaller, poorer, than the US is able to compete with our system in human services, and you believe this reflects BADLY on them? I believe it reflects badly on US. If the US government cared as much for its people as His Excellency, every person in the US would have free healthcare, as they do in Cuba, and every person in the US would have enough to eat. Cuba has the will to make life better for people but lacks the means. Bush has all the means in the world but he dosnt give a damn, and you act as though His Excellency is the criminal? Ignorance, plain and simple.

As for pointing out that Cuba's medical equipment might be poor let me tell you why: The US embargo dosnt just include arms and such. It forbids sending medical supplies, musical instruments, and even food to Cuba. Brave and decent Americans have been imprisoned and fined simply for giving refurbished piannos to Cubans. The US is the reason Cuba isn't a shining example of a socialist utopia. The US and ignorant people like yourself.

And not just Bush, I'd say all of the fairly wealthy people in the world. They have the means, but no compassion. They have the power, but no responsibility. I am quite positive that with the right reforms at the very least, every single American citizen could live with the safety and security of a (lower) middle class citizen. All this with very little, or no, expense to the rich. Oh, perhaps they wouldn't be able to buy a new yacht every couple of months. Well too damn bad! Most of our poor population lives in rural areas by the way.

This is what I think it truly means to be the ruler/leader of any group of people/land, and those who are more fortunate than others:

It is your duty and responsibility to care for the safety and security of both the people and the land in which you dwell, to your utmost ability. In doing this, there is no reason why you cannot still lead a favorable lifestyle. It is also likely that you would be loved and adored by all of your people (except those tainted by greed and other such things of course).

It is also my opinion that any country acting in this manner would be nigh unstoppable. The people would act with as much or more fervor than the most zealous of religious folk. Perhaps I'll elaborate upon my idea some other time.
Apparently writing about JM here is his secret weakness. Muwahaha!!!! Now I have leverage over him and am another step closer towards my goal of world domination.

"And the Evil that was vanquished shall rise anew. Wrapped in the guise of man shall he walk amongst the innocent and Terror shall consume they that dwell upon the Earth. The skies will rain fire. The seas shall become as blood. The righteous shall fall before the wicked! And all creation shall tremble before the burning standards of Hell!" - Mephisto

Kurgan X showed me this web comic done with Legos. It pokes fun at all six Star Wars films and I found it to be extremely entertaining.

Power and wealth are never given willingly by those controlling them. When a corporation needs to cut expenses, it goes immediately to those at the bottom of the work force and cuts wages, instead of garnishing less from the 5 people at the top making 7 figures supposedly for the ability to make good executive decisions.

Presently, the US government keeps the huddled masses stupid enough to believe that it's watching out for them enough for them to be zealous.

But please, people. No personal attacks, or I'll have to start slashing up posts with kittens and rainbows.
