Romances that Rival Anakin & Padme's in crapacity Can you think of any?

First up, I nominate Will Smith's agent Jay and Rosario Dawson's what's-her-name girl in Men In Black 2. That was not a very pleasant "romance" to sit through either.
Then there were the laughably bad "romances" of Daredevil and Elektra, in which Elektra is either supposed to be falling in love with Daredevil/Matt Murdock (in the former) or Mark Miller (in the latter). Neither one is convincing.
Anymore... oh yeah, the contrived romance of Halle Berry and Benjamin Bratt in Catwoman. And the not too believable love story of Keira Knightley's Guinevere and Clive Owen's Arthur in King Arthur.
Can you guys think of anymore?

Streisand (fluttering eyelashes): "Love means never haven't to say you're sorry."
O'Neal: "That's the dumbest thing I've ever heard."
Bad movie romances...
Here's one that probably nobody's heard of: "Moment By Moment" with a young John Travolta in a May-December romance with, of all people, Lily Tomlin.
Here's one from a popular movie some years back: Andie MacDowell and Hugh Grant in "Four Weddings and a Funeral". "Is it raining or is that just me?" Horrible.
I'm actually tempted to risk flaming and put in a vote for "Casablanca", as much as I like the movie. Bogart is so sarcastic and contemptuous throughout that when Bergman falls for him again it seems like something demanded by the screenplay and not something that'd happen naturally.

The absolute worst was the Ben Afflek/Liv Tyler "romance" in Armagedden. Pure torture. Zed serviving Marcellus Wallace in the basement as the Gimp looked on in Pulp Fiction was more moving and deep.

I agree whole heartedly with you about the Jean/Wolverine/Cyclops thing (partly as an extension of my frustration that the X-Men films serve more as a showcase for Wolverine when they should be an ensemble). The Ben Affleck/Liv Tyler thing in Armageddon is a good addition to the list.

"And the Evil that was vanquished shall rise anew. Wrapped in the guise of man shall he walk amongst the innocent and Terror shall consume they that dwell upon the Earth. The skies will rain fire. The seas shall become as blood. The righteous shall fall before the wicked! And all creation shall tremble before the burning standards of Hell!" - Mephisto
Kurgan X showed me this web comic done with Legos. It pokes fun at all six Star Wars films and I found it to be extremely entertaining.

I hate to say it, especially since I don't particularly care for the paring up of Leo with Scorsese, since their films together are the worst in their respective careers, but Leo can act and did do well in titanic, dare I say he would have done a better job bringing a better dimension to the Anakin Skywalker character as he was rumored to be on the short list for that one. Perhaps a big known name would have forced George (pun intended) to deliver a better script and a better two later movies. And although I don't own titanic, the romance did have a place in the movie, rather ingeniously pieced together by James Cameron to get two crowds that would normally be seperated by the subject matter to sit in the same theatre. It also highlighted the human dimension to the disaster instead of focusing on the technical points like tonnage sank and the like.
Upon my remembering X-Men, I have to say that I really dislike movies that compell the male character and female lead to fall for one another because they're the only two on screen so they have to go for it. If it has nothing to do with the story its a pathetic excuse to add this. The way its presented in ATOC with no chemistry between Portman and Haydan whatever his last name is is presented so poorly that their romance is really unnecessary. She could have ponied up to the Cantina on tattooine and gotten some sperm because she had a hankering to give birth to some twins, and it would have been more moving.

Haven't seen many Richard Gere movies besides "Pretty Woman" and 'First Knight" so I wouldn't know.
Say, where'd you get the new avatar MC?
Here's another one - Hugh Jackman and Kate Beckinsale in "Van Helsing".

If you've seen Pretty Woman and The First Knight, then you know exactly what I mean. These are very god examples of creepy romance, when the casting director and producer think that you just need someone with good looks to make it work.
(As to my avatar, it's been drawn by Laughlyn, inspired by Arwen's jumper and my other photo in the photoalbum. I just love it. )
