It was a tough decision between Age of Empires and Battle for Middle Earth, but in the end Age of Empires won my vote.

Straight off; your poll is missing the master of orion series, HOMM, The UFO games, Lords of the realm, Total annihilation, Dawn of war, and Homeworld.
And that's just what I can remember whilst rat arsed.
As a result I stubbornly refuse to vote.
Not because of the alcohol, but because of the choices. Which is pretty typical when people start declaring 'best' polls round here.

Polls with too many choices shouldn't be done.
For example, let's say that someone makes a favorite horror movie poll. At least one person won't agree with the choices because there are thousands of horror movies.
So if somebody is going to make a poll with some many choices, is better to create a topic instead of a poll.
