but seriously, let me attempt to answer the question of how god came into being.
there is nothing that does not exist. go ahead, try to think of something that doesnt exist. it may not be real, but it has existence as a thought. everything exists. existence is defined as taking-up space, time or thought. but everything is relative, including space, time and thought. a thing cannot be percieved until it exists, but it cannot exist until it is percieved. so if something exists by itself, then it cannot be said to exist becuase there is nothing to percieve it and nothing for it to compare itself to.
just as thought cannot exist without the mind, the mind cannot exist without thought. and what would god's first thought be if not of creation?
the instant god existed he thought of creation, which was created that instant. rather than say either there was or there wasnt always a god, we may say, god came into existence the instant he created creation. so that we(all of god's creatures) may percieve each other.
i believe that is as close to an explanation as language can take us. which isnt very close.

Oh god, you guys are so lucky that Slade's out for the week.
GOD IS OVER-RATED AS AN ARGUMENT.
You just can't argue his existance because it is based on faith and that varies from person to person. You cannot have hard facts about such a subject; therefore, you cannot have a debate. Period. So it just migrates to many of the christian beliefs that you can argue about, most likely gayness or the right wing.
Stop!
Hell, we haven't had a nazi thread in a while, why not do that.

Well, what is there to say about the Nazis? To generalize, they were a bunch of evil bastards. What else would you like to discuss about them.
Apparently writing about JM here is his secret weakness. Muwahaha!!!! Now I have leverage over him and am another step closer towards my goal of world domination.
"And the Evil that was vanquished shall rise anew. Wrapped in the guise of man shall he walk amongst the innocent and Terror shall consume they that dwell upon the Earth. The skies will rain fire. The seas shall become as blood. The righteous shall fall before the wicked! And all creation shall tremble before the burning standards of Hell!" - Mephisto
Kurgan X showed me this web comic done with Legos. It pokes fun at all six Star Wars films and I found it to be extremely entertaining.

God....an interesting proposition eh. Is he there is he real???? I think so but others don't i wasn't around for the first God-related topic so I guess i am curious as to what everyone here's position on the subject is.
According to me:
No, he isn't there. Therefore, he isn't "real".
"I prefer rationalism to atheism. The question of God and other objects-of-faith are outside reason and play no part in rationalism, thus you don't have to waste your time in either attacking or defending."

That's a perfect analogy. God is "real" in the sense that there are numerous stories and tales written about Him/Her/Them/It. But in the sense of having a physical existence, proof is not out there.
"I had a lot of different ideas. At one point, Luke, Leia and Ben were all going to be little people, and we did screen tests to see if we could do that." -George Lucas, in STAR WARS: the Annotated Screenplays (p197).

The word is extinct.
And no they arn't, in fact my sister drives a Volkswagon Passat. Just because there arnt any of the beetles around any more doesn't mean that the company went bust.
