Hello, this is my first post so forgive me if anythings messed up. Recently after watching Episode II something caught my attention that did not before. Like most on this forum I hate to nitpick. The scene where Obi-wan and Anakin are going to enter the bar to chase Zam Wessel is where it occurs. Anakin loses his lightsaber in the speeder chase and when Obi-wan meets up with Anakin they exchange some typical Star Wars dialogue. Obi-wan then hands him his lightsaber and says "Try not to lose it. This is your life," or something to that extent. While being so critical of Anakin for loosing his lightsaber, he actually didn't need it to save his life right at that point. Yet Obi-wan and Mace Windu lose their lightsabers in heavy combat situations. Jango Fett could have gotten off a few blaster blasts and there is the end of Kenobi (Although, Obi-wan should have clowned Fett. Sorry, the Fetts aren't cool.) Then Mace loses his during the battle at the execution arena. There are blasters firing everywhere. What if one droid scored a lucky shot while the lightsaber was on the ground. For Lucas to write a scene that makes Anakin to look like a fool and then two Jedi Masters do the same thing just doesn't make sense. Well, I guess thats the PT.

You did mess one thing up when you said this:

This isn't true. We LOVE to nit pick!

Welcome to the forum.

Obi-Wan is just a know-it-all jerk in most of the movies. Stll much more lovable than Anakin though.

The statement about nit picking was sarcasm! Nothing is more entertaining than arguing with a fanboy who defends every detail of star wars to the death.

Obi-Wan is pretty irratating and stupid, too. I somewhat sympathize with Anakin (just a little bit, mind you) about how Obi-Wan is a such-and-such know it all jerk. I've faced assholes like that before, but they never had much to do with me and when they did, it didn't last for too long. Somehow, Anakin's constant bitching seems more sympathatic in this light...

Hey, you guys think that having Obi-wan emphasize the lightsaber's importance and then showing him and Mace losing their sabers is meant to be noticed by the audience?

It represents the fact that the very "life" of the Jedi order is slipping out of their grasp.

And with one notable exception, they probably couldn't get it up, either.

Apparently writing about JM here is his secret weakness. Muwahaha!!!! Now I have leverage over him and am another step closer towards my goal of world domination.

"And the Evil that was vanquished shall rise anew. Wrapped in the guise of man shall he walk amongst the innocent and Terror shall consume they that dwell upon the Earth. The skies will rain fire. The seas shall become as blood. The righteous shall fall before the wicked! And all creation shall tremble before the burning standards of Hell!" - Mephisto

Kurgan X showed me this web comic done with Legos. It pokes fun at all six Star Wars films and I found it to be extremely entertaining.
