Google Talk has been released... It's still very green, but I think it has future. You need a GMail account to use it.

Pretty sweet. I just signed up. Definitely has a nice future. Pretty soon Google will rule the world. I just want to make sure that I have as much of my life converted over to their empire beforehand as possible so that the transition will be that much smoother.

Hehe, me too.

It still has a couple of things to fix (sometimes the chat windows don't minimize, and when I pass the mouse pointer over the Google Talk symbol it keeps telling me that I have two new mail conversations when I actually have read all of them), and some needed fuctionalities to add (like file transfer), though.
But the same happened with GMail, it started off slow, but fuctionalities kept coming and coming and now it's very powerful.

Google always comes around. Since they say everything they do is still in Beta. They've been listing their News page as "beta" for four years now.

Everything is a WIP. That's what you have to love about those Google bastards. cool.gif

Still haven't done any chatting with Google Talk but I have one buddy that's officially accepted my invitation... so there's that.

Of course, there is the absurdity of it all as brilliantly touched on by Chris Pirillo on Lockergnome: http://channels.lock...ogle_talk.phtml

I have 6 or 7 buddies... most of them I have them on msn, too, but what the hell.

I don't know, so far it does look like just another instant messaging client, but I think its real power will come in the future.

Meanwhile, yesterday I had my first voice call. It worked really good.
