Well, I tried Ultima VI in my comp, it worked all right... no sound, of course, and the game was way too fast, with Moslo running and all. And something else happened, for some reason, the fans of every cooler in my computer just stopped spinning blink.gif

Ultima 6 is a mostly turn based game. Sadly moslo does jack these days. You're better off running games via dosbox, since it has sound emulation as well.

but you need a decent computer to run 486+ games.

For one of the best stories that I have ever seen, try to find Tactics Ogre for Playstation (it may be on the SNES as well). Not one of the greatest games in any other category, but the story is what got me through the entire game. It makes Final Fantasy Tactics look like a piece of shit. I've played them both, and I think that they came out at about the same time. Have to give my vote to Kotor 1, the only game to ever make me shout HOLY SHIT! because of the story. If Kotor 2 had been made the way it could have been*, things might have been different.

Grrr stupid release date/time limit of 1 year.
Apparently writing about JM here is his secret weakness. Muwahaha!!!! Now I have leverage over him and am another step closer towards my goal of world domination.

"And the Evil that was vanquished shall rise anew. Wrapped in the guise of man shall he walk amongst the innocent and Terror shall consume they that dwell upon the Earth. The skies will rain fire. The seas shall become as blood. The righteous shall fall before the wicked! And all creation shall tremble before the burning standards of Hell!" - Mephisto

Kurgan X showed me this web comic done with Legos. It pokes fun at all six Star Wars films and I found it to be extremely entertaining.

These are the good Rpg's I remember (My memory fail again with me!!!)

hey, Ewok hunter, nice to meet you...

i know you're relativley new here and I don't want to scare you away at all but i should just let you know that if you ever make a list of "best RPGs" again that doesn't include Fallout 2 and Fallout 1 i am obligated to hunt down and destroy you...

also, mentioning Vampire, the masquerade: Bloodlines would have been good.

And Daggerfall/Morrowind, separating the FF Series into different games, Chrono Trigger and Secret of Mana (1 & 2) for that matter, Fallout, Skies of Arcadia, Ogre Battle games, Shining Force 2 (where my Internet handle is from), any of the Wizardy games, (Diablo 2 is more of a dungeon crawl than an RPG. It's got stats and equ, but no persona to the characters), Ancient Domains of Mystery (Best. Rogue-like. EVER.), the Phantasy Star games, (I'm tempted to add Beyond Oasis, but it's also more like an action-adventure with RPG elements.), there's just too many!

Super Mario RPG was a lot of fun. Fun Quests, lot's of characters, interesting bosses. I also like the idea of timing button mashing just as you execute an attack to increase the damage. IT's better than just selecting 'attack' and waiting it out, timing the button hit makes me feel more involved.

I didn't play it till a couple months back on an emulator.

This song sums up my feeling on the matter.

the only RPGishness about diablo is that you get to choose which skills you miss out on...

Diablo is more like a Pokemon game. You play to get the next level. (that's how you play pokemon right?)

Well, kinda...You train your pokemon to gain levels and learn new attacks, and they in turn, help you earn gym badges, which helps you control them. So it's kinda leveling up, I guess.

Fable's as much an RPG as Zelda is.

And by that I mean it's not an RPG.

Well technically virtually every games a RPG since you're always assuming a role and playing your part in the game....
