What's your favorite evacuation scene?
Cloud Citygoers gone amok? The Falcon on Hoth?
Luke dragging Annie across the floor on DS2?
I'm not sure which of Yoda's is my favorite.

Apparently writing about JM here is his secret weakness. Muwahaha!!!! Now I have leverage over him and am another step closer towards my goal of world domination.
"And the Evil that was vanquished shall rise anew. Wrapped in the guise of man shall he walk amongst the innocent and Terror shall consume they that dwell upon the Earth. The skies will rain fire. The seas shall become as blood. The righteous shall fall before the wicked! And all creation shall tremble before the burning standards of Hell!" - Mephisto
Kurgan X showed me this web comic done with Legos. It pokes fun at all six Star Wars films and I found it to be extremely entertaining.

I was wondering if there was any kind of training. Like the troops running around DS2, I'm sure they were all TIE pilots, right? It's not like the DS has lifeboat drills.
The Bespin crowd must have had a plan. Even Annie now says "prepare my shuttle".
Even the Princess' rescue was an escape without a plan. Lucas, you f'ing genius.
The Hoth scene was pretty good.

Nitpick: He ALWAYS said "prepare my shuttle." That was the original ESB line. NOW he says "alert my Star Destroyer to prepare for my arrival" which was of course an unused line by James Earl Jones from Star Wars (1977), put into the Special Edition.
How would they evactuate? According to EU sources, the Death Star had loads of fighters, shuttles and other support craft onboard. They could have evacuated to those. Does it have escape pods? A ship as small as the Tantive IV has escape pods, and even the Falcon supposedly had them (we never saw one of course, it might have been a ruse...heh). Perhaps it was like the Titanic, they just didn't think they needed enough, but I'm sure they had some escape pods. Tarkin's man mentions having his shuttle ready, so they had some contingency plan at least for the higher-ups.

I think its safe to say that they had the means to evacuate the Death Star:
1. They seemed to evacuate DS II, though maybe those procedures were put into place in view of what happened to DS I.
2. The exchange with Tarkin indidcates that evacuation was considered and some sort of procedure was in place.
3. There were probably alot of skilled personnel stationed on the Death Star that the Empire didn't want to have to replace. And there is alot that could potentially go wrong with something that complex.
Many of the fighter pilots at least did get away.
